Charleviox Moon Artisan Wine is a local commercially licensed winery and vineyard owned by winegrower Tom Jaenicke and spouse, Kim Kolb. Tom crafts most of the wines from estate grown grapes and locally sourced cherries and other fruit. The first releases of Charlevoix Moon Artisian Wine will be in May 2018 and will be available for tasting and purchase local Farmer's Markets, at select retail establishments in Charlevoix, and at special event venues. Area winemakers know Tom as "The Man in the Moon".

DROST LANDSCAPE ANNOUNCES STAFF STATUS CHANGES FOR THE 2018 SEASON
Dustin Drost has accepted the position of Project Manager. Dustin will join the team of Drost project managers who, with their innovative practices and well trained crews, transform sites into the vision of the client. A talented craftsman, Dustin has been with the organization since 1998, having worked hands-on in many areas, and was most recently a Hardscape Foreman. Dustin understands the many facets of taking a project from start to finish and that, along with his ability to teach and mentor crew members, will be a great benefit to our organization. We look forward to what Dustin will bring to his new role as Project Manager as Drost continues to grow and exceed the expectation of our clients!

NORTH CENTRAL'S LUNCHEON LECTURE LOOKS AT FUTURE LONG-TERM CARE
North Central Michigan College's Luncheon Lecture on Friday, February 9, will take a look at the future of long-term care. The program will be held in the Library Conference Center on the Petoskey campus. Lunch begins at 11:30am and the program begins at noon.
Baby boomers are at it again. On the verge of retirement, they now want long-term care that promotes comfort and quality of life in a homelike environment. In response, long-term care managers are moving from a traditional medical model to a more holistic approach for this growing population. Lisa Ashley, executive director of Bay Bluffs and Mike Greer, chief financial officer, will explain the challenges ahead for the county's medical care facility.

TOAST TO LITERACY A FUN EVENING AND A GREAT CAUS
Char-Em United Way's fifth Toast to Literacy Mardi Gras Party, will be held from 7:00-10:00pm on
Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Castle Farms.
Back this year is the popular Mardi Gras theme with decorations, music, and strolling entertainers. As always, the Toast to Literacy will include beer/wine/cider/mead tastings, food, and a silent auction.
Local caterers, Pigs Eatin' Ribs, Grey Gables Restaurant, Wineguys Catering, and Boyne City Tap Room donate selections for the best Soup, Savory and Sweet competition
Beverage tastings from Cheboygan Brewing, Petoskey Farms, Right Brain Brewery, Beards Brewery, Spare Key Winery, and Bee Well Meadery are the highlight of the evening. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be available.

Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra's Brass Quintet and the Drumheads, Sunday, February 11, 2018 at 4:00pm at the First Congregational UCC, Charlevoix.
Performances by Vern Campbell and Pat Jarve, trumpet; Beverly Isenbarger, horn; Edward Bahr, trombone; and Carl Hawkins, tuba. Ensembles include Anthony DiLorenzo's Fire Dance; Caleb Hudson, White Rose Elegy; Music Hall Suite, Joseph Horovitz and more.
The popular Drumheads are back with Tim Mocny, a unique group of musicians with diverse backgrounds, performing on percussion drums.

GOVERNOR'S SUMMIT ON EXTRACTIVE INDUSTRIES
Michigan's mineral, stone, sand, gravel, crude oil and natural gas industries are a vibrant and little-known part of Michigan. These industries provide jobs for our residents and supply the products we use every day. This summit will provide information and activate discussion about policy, economic development, education and public perception.
The Summit will take place on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, 8am-5pm at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center, 219 S. Harrison Road, East Lansing. Cost is $50 and includes lunch.
Keynote speakers for the summit are Governor Rick Snyder and Anja Manuel, author of "This Brave New World."
