Thanks to generous funding from the Charlevoix Area Chamber of Commerce and  Fox Charlevoix & Fox Charlevoix Ford, the Charlevoix Area Chamber of Commerce is able to award one lucky High School Senior a Scholarship in the amount of $1000.

GREAT LAKES CENTER FOR THE ARTS WELCOMES THE NEWEST MEMBER OF THEIR TEAM
Angela Morris, Development Associate, is the newest team member of the Center. 

Angela is originally from the Grand Rapids area and moved to Petoskey with her husband, Jeff, a teacher at  Boyne City Middle School, and 18-month old daughter, Hazel, in April 2017.  They have always loved visiting Northern Michigan and decided to make it their new home.

Angela achieved her undergraduate degree in Public Relations and Advertising from Grand Valley State University and master's degree in Business Administration from Ferris State University.  She has already become an asset to the Center, assisting with the administrative and operations side of the Development Office

NOW ACCEPTING CAMEL SPONSORS 
The popular Charlevoix Camel Cup is back for the third year and will take place on May 5, 2018 from noon-6:00pm.  The Camel Cup is a giant gameboard race where the dice are rolled and the corresponding camel moves forward on the board.  The camel that makes it to the end first wins and money is paid to those betting on that camel.  There are 6 races before the final race where the six largest earning camels compete for the coveted Camel Cup.  All proceeds raised fund the Bridge Drop New Year's Eve celebration.  Have fun while raising funds!

This year Charlevoix businesses, clubs or service groups can sponsor a camel for $200 and get $50 in camel bucks to use on the day of the event.  This is a great team building opportunity for coworkers!

NORTH CENTRAL'S LUNCHEON LECTURE LOOKS AT HEALTHCARE AND CULTURE IN AFGHANISTAN
