WHAT DOES BLACK BUSINESS MONTH MEAN TO ME?

More and more, people across the country are acknowledging the need to support Black-Owned businesses, and that really warms my heart. My own feelings around our country's collective awakening have evolved: I’ve gone from not wanting to feel like a “charity case” because of my race to now not allowing my ego to keep me from benefiting from much-needed support and business.

﻿ At the end of the day, it’s still my hard work, passion, and commitment to excellent customer service that will KEEP you coming back to Sheer Ambrosia Bakery regardless of what brought you here. I will not allow mean-spirited thinking (including my own…sometimes we are our own worst enemy, right?) to keep me from accepting hard-earned business.

As you well know, not everyone has been supportive when it comes to this idea of intentionally supporting Black-Owned businesses, and I’ve had my fair share of run-ins with unkind people. But, I believe in returning anger and hatred with kindness and love. And, I believe in building a business whose mission is to foster appreciation, curiosity, and respect for all cultures through delicious bakery delicacies. I am committed to Sheer Ambrosia’s Vision and Mission statements, and it is my sincere hope that one day we don’t focus on anyone’s race, color, or creed except to enjoy and celebrate them.
