Duval County Democratic Black Caucus
Early Voting Started Yesterday
Dear Members & Friends

Early voting in the Primary Elections was yesterday, August 8, in most counties in Florida. Dates, times, and locations to cast a ballot early in-person vary depending on where voters are registered. The stakes are too high for our families, communities, and state to sit this one out. Click here to find when and where to vote early near you.

The Florida Primary will take place on August 23, and it's the perfect opportunity to shape local elections and ensure that the candidates running for positions put people over profits and represent the interests of our families and communities.

With so much at stake this election year, we can't afford to sit this one out by not casting our vote. The Duval County Democratic Black Caucus has 13 members that are running for office, so we are all charged with the heavy lifting of getting our friends and family out to vote. The (DCDBC) will continue to be bold and fearless, and we need leaders like this on all levels of government.

We know that when we pull together, we will pull through and finish strong to turn blue in 2022.
The COVID pandemic has caused the Duval County Democratic Black Caucus to pivot in organizing. It has made voting-by-mail VBM a critical element in saving democracy and our lives.

Voting by mail is easy, safe, and fast. Be sure to

THE WORK
What is phone banking?
In the political and advocacy space, phone banking is a way to canvass voters and supporters over the phone. In other words, campaigns and organizations call voters and supporters to get out the vote, fundraise, or sway public opinion about a politician or issue.
ACTIVE PHONE BANKS BELOW
Why is phone banking important?
Phone banking is an additional tool that campaigns and advocacy groups can leverage to engage with their audience. When used in addition to other powerful outreach tools like peer-to-peer texting, phone banking enhances the quality of outreach to voters and supporters.
Also, phone banking provides a personal touch to the voter and supporter outreach. Speaking directly to a person and hearing a human voice can make contacts more inclined to converse and be more receptive to the volunteers' message.

OUR VISION
The Democratic Black Caucus of Florida believes that the future of our Caucus depends upon building political entitlements, making social adjustments, enforcing educational advancements, and demanding equitable business transactions. The Caucus is an integral part of the Florida Democratic Party’s infrastructure, which unites talent with the opportunity to facilitate voter turnout and identify qualified Black Democrats to run for office. The DBCF will continue in building through educational forums effecting Voter Registration Drives (EVRD), Get Out The Vote (GOTV), Voter Action Network (VAN), Vote By Mail (VBM).

OUR MISSION
In a continued effort the Democratic Black Caucus of Florida will work with leaders from around the State of Florida in its effort to establish County chapters in all 67 Florida counties. We will build up and reinforce the Florida Democratic Party by working diametrically with local and state Democratic leaders, Democratic Executive Committees, and local Democratic elected officials. We will encourage, engage, and educate to empower Black Democrats in the State of Florida. But, as the DBCF we will also support our constituency to become the next generation of leaders in the Florida Democratic Party and the national Democratic Committee, respectfully.
