Black Hills Estate Winery’s Online Valentine’s Bash
Supports Canada’s Only Hospitality Charity

February 1, 2021 (Vancouver, BC) – The BC Hospitality Foundation (BCHF) is delighted to announce it will receive partial proceeds from sales related to a fun Valentine’s event hosted by BC’s Black Hills Estate Winery. The Virtual Valentine’s Soiree takes place on Friday, February 12th 2021. “Guests” at the exclusive online event will enjoy an evening of wine, music, and entertainment in their own homes. Featured personalities and entertainers include Barenaked Ladies co-founder Steven Page, tribute group ABBA Arrival, and Jason Priestley. Black Hills’ goal in hosting the event is to bring a bit of joy and love to people who must stay at home due to measures related to COVID-19.

Running from 6:00 to 8:00PM, the Soiree is an innovative way to celebrate Valentine’s Day safely. It will include not only live musical performances, but a talk by Jason Priestley of “90210” fame on the history and folklore of Black Hills, as well as a guided tasting of Black Hills wines by Ross Wise, MW. Access to the event is included for anyone who purchases a special Valentine’s Day 3- bottle tasting pack of Black Hills wines, with prices starting from only $115 per household.

Glenn Fawcett of Black Hills says the winery is happy to support the BCHF with this initiative: “We love to get involved and make a positive difference to the food service community that has been so supportive of our winery over the last 20 years. If we can do that in a fun way that involves wine, food, and music, we consider that a win-win for everyone involved.”

Dana Harris, Executive Director of the BCHF, says the charity is grateful for the support. “Last year was rough for everyone in our industry, and the generosity of individuals and of businesses like Black Hills was what made it possible for us to continue helping people who have nowhere else to turn. We’re also delighted to be associated with an event like the Soiree, as it’s such a great example of what our local hospitality industry is all about, which is people enjoying themselves and connecting with others.

Black Hills’ donations to the BCHF will be as follows:

·        $5 for each Valentine’s 3-pack of wines
·        $10 per 6-pack of wines
·        $20 per 12-pack of wines

As an added bonus, for this event only, Black Hills has released 25 cases of its award-winning 95-point 2018 Carmenere. The wine will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Valentine’s wine packs will be on sale ONLY until February 10th, so don’t delay placing your order online!
As a bonus, Earls Restaurants across Canada will be providing a select three-course meal kit that will pair wonderfully with the featured wines from Black Hills Winery. It is available for guests who wish to order it online and pick it up at their closest Earls Restaurant. This great partnership will add a culinary element to people’s celebrations.

"Earls is excited to be the exclusive restaurant partner for this year's Black Hills Estate Winery virtual Valentine's Day event. Our Valentine's Day dinner kit for two, with 3 decadent courses will enrich this Black Hills tasting experience and is the perfect pairing with either of Black Hills 3-bottle wine packs. Order delivery from Earls and let us handle your culinary needs for the evening." - Earls Corporate Chef Dave Wong

About Black Hills Estate Winery
About Black Hills Estate Winery: Founded in 1998, Black Hills Estate Winery produces wines exclusively from its estate vineyard on the Black Sage Bench, north of Osoyoos, British Columbia. The vineyard microclimate is one of the hottest, driest, and sunniest sites in the South Okanagan, allowing the vines to yield flavourful grapes of balanced intensity. Using sustainable vinicultural techniques and thoughtful winemaking practices, the winery is well-known for its signature blend: Nota Bene, an age-worthy Bordeaux-style red blend produced in limited quantities from select barrels, now in its 20th vintage. Black Hills also produces a selection of stunning ultra-premium blends, such as Addendum, Per Se, and Ipso Facto, and varietally-labelled Viognier, Chardonnay, Roussanne, Syrah, Tempranillo and Carménère.

Surrounded by panoramic vineyard views, the Black Hills team welcomes wine lovers to visit their Wine Experience Center in Oliver. This stylish facility provides a unique, sit-down wine tasting experience guided by highly trained wine professionals. Annual summer events held at the facility are bold, exciting and fun. Members of the Black Hills Wine Club enjoy front-of-line access to limited-releases and wines not available to the public.
