Library Renovation Phase Two Begins
As part of ongoing efforts to improve the building’s aesthetics and functionality, the Romulus Public Library will begin Phase Two of our planned renovations in mid-February to upgrade the Adult Area. Upgrades will include private study rooms, a lounge seating area with electric fireplace, charging stations in study tables, new paint and shelving surrounds, a new ceiling, and updated lighting.
Upgrades are being done at the request of residents who asked for a modern, more functional library. The work is expected to take eight weeks to complete. Most of the adult collection will be unavailable to the public during the renovation, however, new books and new DVDs will be available for checkout. The renovations are supported by the library budget. Taxpayers will not see an increase in taxes to support the funding of the renovations.
