In honor of Black History Month, Team PPMC took the opportunity to support local black-owned businesses by curating a list featuring these businesses in our community. We wanted to create a resource to make it easier for you to identify and support black-owned businesses year-round.

The PPMC recently completed work with the City of Topeka Fire Department. PPMC provided stakeholder engagement and research regarding the Topeka Fire Department’s current service delivery model with special attention paid to emergency medical services and potential service enhancements. This effort took into consideration industry best practices and recommendations for implementation.
Abilene Economic Impact Study
Community residents contribute a portion of their income to their city through various forms of taxes, so it is important to understand the economic benefits residents gain in exchange for these contributions. The PPMC worked with the City of Abilene to explore the potential economic impact of a new sports complex. The study assessed the effect on the local economy, including potential tax revenue and other economic benefits. The project also included a community survey to elicit community investment priorities, approval of past projects, and willingness to pay for this project through a sales tax increase.
Wichita Collective

Team PPMC's Corinthian Kelly recently teamed up with Wichita Collective Impact for a fun and memorable opportunity. Corinthian had the privilege of participating in the Active Readers, Lifetime Achievers program, where he got to read to students at Spaght Elementary to celebrate Black History Month.

Team PPMC brought our Valentine's boxes and filled them with sweet treats then wrapped up the afternoon by joining our friends at the Hugo Wall School for lunch to celebrate Mardi Gras. Huge thanks to HWS for hosting us!
Military Officers Association of America
#TeamPPMC's Dawn Shepler got the opportunity to speak at the Military Officers Association of America at Rolling Hills Country Club. She talked about the vital work of the Mental Health and Substance Abuse Coalition, breaking down barriers for those facing mental health and addiction issues. It is imperative that we recognize the importance of community collaboration and support in tackling these challenges. Thank you Dawn for your dedication to highlighting this initiative!
Women in Public Service Spring Luncheon
We had an incredible turnout at our first Women in Public Service luncheon of the year! We were thrilled to welcome over 50 women to hear from Danielle Johnson, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity, as she shared her insights on "Leaning into Discomfort."
It was a truly empowering session with helpful advice, powerful lessons, networking opportunities, and of course, delicious food!
