Celebrate Black History Month In The Classroom
Resources for all grade levels

Black History Month, or National African American History Month, is an annual celebration of achievements by black Americans and a time for recognizing the central role of African Americans in U.S. history. We have compiled ten resources to help teach students about the significant events and people in African-American history in the United States. Students can explore the March on Washington, the purpose of Black History Month, the life of Maya Angelou, significant scientists and inventors, the Underground Railroad, and much more! Click here to access these resources.

Deadline to enter is February 29th

Raise awareness and inspire students to get involved in improving air quality with the OnAir Art Challenge. The overarching theme of each contest is "Clean Air Heroes" and requires students to create art that will inspire their peers to help reduce air pollution. All entries must be submitted no later than February 29, 2016, and should adhere to specific guidelines. This art challenge is a part of the free P-12 educational initiative OnAir Schools, founded by The Clean Air Campaign. Click here to learn more and get started!
