Meet Jason F. Combs!

“Jason Combs is the Assistant Director for BIPOC Male/Masculine Success at the Office of Multicultural Affairs. Jason received his B.A. in Political Science and M.Ed in Student Affairs from Clemson University. He has been working in college access for the last six years and is dedicated to social justice education and student development. Jason’s Black and gay identities are his most salient and have the biggest impact on how he navigates the world. Jason’s advocacy for Black and LGBT populations has seen him lead numerous programming committees to create spaces of love and support for LGBTQ people of color at his previous institution. He can’t wait to get more involved with the Tulane family and add to the amazing work done in the Carolyn Barber Pierre Center for Intercultural Life.

When he is not at work, Jason prefers to spend time with his family and friends. He enjoys hiking, swimming, listening to music and is a huge anime and horror movie fan. He is also a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Stop by CIL to say hey!!!”

Graduate Student Listening Sessions

“If we don’t center the voices of marginalized people, we’re doing the wrong work.”

Tarana Burke

The new Graduate Student Listening Sessions by OGPS is the modern-day version of the 'Suggestion Box'. The peer-to-peer Listening Sessions, hosted by Graduate Fellows, are a perfect place for you to bring your suggestions, concerns, and things you would like to change at Tulane University for graduate students. These evening Zoom sessions provide convenience and face-to-face interaction where you can be heard in a safe environment.

These listening sessions are open to Tulane graduate students that OGPS supports: all PhD students and those in research-based Master's programs.

Alvin Ailey Documentary Screening & Discussion

Feb 23 | 6 p.m. | Diboll Gallery, The Commons

Join OMA and NSLP for a screening of Ailey, a documentary about the legendary performer and educator in the world of dance.

From the film website: "Alvin Ailey was a visionary artist who found salvation through dance. An immersive portrait told in his own words and through the creation of a new commission inspired by his life, Ailey fully profiles this brilliant and enigmatic man who — when confronted by a world that refused to embrace him — was determined to build one that would."
