Celebrate Black History Month at Live Oak Public Libraries! Tour the historic Carnegie Library, jam with Shenole Latimer as he shares his love of jazz and its roots, catch a special movie night at Hinesville Library, and more.

Free Tax Preparation Assistance

Free tax preparation assistance is available at specific library locations. Volunteers from the AARP Foundation, in partnership with the IRS, will assist with State and Federal tax returns. Bring all necessary documents and forms. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis; early arrival is recommended.

African American Newspapers

The African American Newspapers database lets you search more than 350 newspapers chronicling the African American experience from 1827 to 1998, including The Savannah Tribune, dating back to 1875. Free access with your library card.

Study Help

Are you preparing for exams? Find classes at the library and take practice tests online anytime. LearningExpress Library has test prep for ACT, AP, PSAT, and SAT as well as GED and HiSET exams plus resources in Spanish. (GALILEO password required for offsite access.)

Rincon Library Renovations

Have you seen the renovations at Rincon Library? We are excited to better serve the community with technology upgrades, new furniture, a more spacious layout, and a dedicated teen area. The redesign has also made it easier for patrons to browse the shelves and discover new books to check out.

Community Engagement

Do you have gently used children's books that need a new home? We welcome book donations to support partnerships with local schools and community organizations. Drop-off locations: Bull Street Library, Garden City Library, Hinesville Library, Islands Library, Oglethorpe Mall Library, Southwest Chatham Library, and Springfield Library. Thanks!

The Cat in the Hat

March is National Reading Month and stories will come to life at the library. Kids can play along with the famous Dr. Seuss book character, the Cat in the Hat! March 2-6: save the date for this interactive show.

2020 Census

The 2020 Census is coming soon! In March, you will receive an invite for a simple questionnaire. You can complete it online, over the phone, or by mail. Answers are secure and private.
Your response matters. Census results have an impact on community planning and funding for health clinics and highways, fire departments and disaster response, education programs and college tuition assistance, and so much more.
