This month's featured author is Marchel Alverson of Kansas. Marchel is the author of several novels including, Painted on Souls, Savor the Sweetness and the upcoming Been Kissed by Madness.

Marchel obtained a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Central Missouri, and a master's degree in communications from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Marchel has worked as journalist for more than 16 years, and currently, works as a communications specialist in Kansas City.



"What motivates me to write is my love affair with the written word," say Marchel. "I can't remember a time when I didn't have a pen and paper in my hand, even as a child. This passion actually began through my short-story writing, which is something I still love to do, when time permits. I guess you can say short-story writing was my first love. I am so grateful for BlackShortStories.com, for providing a venue where writers can share in this love."
