Hamm Foundation Golf Tournament
|
Kyle Kukuk and Austin Quick participated on a team at the Hamm Foundation, Inc Golf Tournament on July 24 and beat the heat on the golf course.
Here are Kyle (left) and Austin (right) are pictured at the Blackstone-sponsored hole with Bob Ralls (middle), Director of Geology at HAMM, Inc.

Maren, Andrew, and Bella wrapped up their summer internships with Blackstone.
They all presented a recap of their summer projects, memories, and lessons learned to the company in the Overland Park office.
Blackstone was thrilled to have all three of these individuals with us this summer and wish them the best as they head back to college this fall!

Blackstone attended the 50th Anniversary of the Missouri Waste Control Coalition Conference (MWCC) on July 10 and 11. Conference attendees included businesses, consultants, regulators, and others interested in the management and disposal of generated waste and other environmental topics.
As well as serving on the Board of Directors, Blackstone staff had a booth at the conference, moderated breakout sessions, and presented on a recent leachate pond cover installation project and cover systems.

Blackstone Senior Project Manager, Krista Brodersen, attended the 2023 Brownfields Conference in Detroit. This conference was a great opportunity to connect with EPA Region 7, Iowa Department of Natural Resources, and Kansas State University Technical Assistance to Brownfields (KSUTAB), and others.
Krista attended multiple training sessions, KSUTAB karaoke, and a cruise on the Detroit Princess Riverboat. Looked like a great time!

KDHE Environmental Conference
|
Blackstone Senior Project Managers Theresa Ferguson and John Knightly attended the 2023 Kansas Environmental Conference in Manhattan, Kansas. The conference was a great opportunity to connect with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE), Environmental Protection Agency Region 7, and many more vendors and contractors. Theresa and John attended presentations including KDHE contract and policy updates and interesting projects going on throughout the State of Kansas.

John Knightly, Austin Quick, and Ed Guernsey attended the 21st annual Head for the Cure 5k to help raise awareness and support for those fighting brain cancer. It was a gorgeous morning for the event. Austin’s band, Carswell & Hope, and performed before and after the race. This year’s Head for the Cure included more than 5,400 participants, raising over $615,000 and still counting!

Blackstone employees enjoyed several opportunities this fall to network with students, faculty, and other industry professionals at several career fairs.
