Missing the late 70s and early 80s? We got your back! In honor of the ISB's 50th year anniversary, we are sending out monthly installments of throwback photos from each decade of the ISB. All leading to this year's Convention in Ithaca, June 5-10, 2017!  In this installment we're diving in to 1977-1987
 
Between 1977 and 1987 the ISB:
  • Held the ISB Summer Bass School at the University of Cincinnati from 1977-1981.
  • Supported the 1978 and 1982 Isle of Man International Competitions and Workshops in Great Britain.
  • Held the Zimmermann/Mingus Competition with classical and jazz divisions in Cincinnati in November, 1981.
  • Appointed Jeff Bradetich the Executive Director and Editor of the ISB in July, 1982.        
  • Changed the format of membership publication from newsletter to magazine. 
  • Held 1984, the ISB convention at Northwestern University, in Evanston, IL.  Jeff Bradetich was Convention Chair.
  • Sponsored 1984 International Composition Contest.
  • Held 1986 ISB convention at the University of Texas at Austin, David Neubert was Convention Chair.
