A Current Look at COVID-19
The virus continues to spread
We have been dealing with the coronavirus for such a long time now, so we understand the fatigue surrounding all things COVID.

Unfortunately, the virus is still going strong around the country, including here in Vermont. Recently, we have seen the infection rates in our area jump higher, and there have been several losses in our community that have hit hard.
Nathan Ricketts
On September 21, Nate and his wife Tara tested positive for COVID-19. Less than a week later, Nate passed away.

Our hearts go out to his family and friends who are still reeling from the loss.
If you are interested in helping Nate's wife and kids, you can use the GoFundMe link here.
Please continue to take this virus seriously, adhere 100% to the precautions we have in place, and consider getting vaccinated if you have not yet received the vaccine.
Your health and safety is our first priority, and we need everyone to do everything they can to protect themselves, their families, their friends and their co-workers. Please stay safe.
Doug Casella Honored
Irene: 10 Years Later
On Friday, September 24th, Casella Construction co-founder, Doug Casella, was recognized for his work in the community and on Route 4 during Tropical Storm Irene.

The Town of Mendon honored him with a marble plaque, which was unveiled Friday at Sugar and Spice, near where the road washed out during Irene.

A crowd gathered for the event, including Governor Scott, members of local and state legislature, and Doug's family and friends.
The event was featured in the Rutland Herald the next day. You can read the full article here.

Fishing Excursion Details
Marty & Chris had a successful day on the water
Marty McMahon won one of last year's fishing excursions. He and Chris didn't get a chance to go last year, but they took advantage of a beautiful day recently and had a fun outing.
"Marty and I got out to do some fun fishing on Lake Bomoseen and had a great time. He's a great guy and I really enjoyed spending the day in the boat with him. We caught quite a few smaller fish to start the day, had a lull in the middle of the trip, then caught some more at the end. At one point we both 'doubled up' on nice Smallmouth bass at the same time, including a really nice fish around 4.25 pounds that Marty caught. That big smallmouth jumped several feet out of the water a ways away from the boat as Marty battled it. Pretty cool to watch."
