Time to talk about what’s on everyone’s mind—the Blues playoff game last night. Hockey season is a highlight of my year, but it seems fitting that the Blues lost—echoing other bittersweet experiences of this summer (like cancelled vacations and shifting school plans).

My family is currently anticipating one of the most bittersweet experiences of parenthood—our daughter leaving for college. School rules keep changing, but we are staying flexible, anticipating best- and worst-case scenarios, and planning ahead. In the words of hockey legend Wayne Gretzky:

"A good hockey player plays where the puck is.
A great hockey player plays where the puck is going to be."

In hockey, at home, and in business, I strive to live by these words. That’s why the team at Blattel & Associates is staying flexible, anticipating best- and worst-case scenarios, and planning ahead when it comes to your investments. Thanks for trusting Blattel & Associates.

Stocks were mixed last week amid a busy week of earnings, some troubling economic data, and seemingly little progress on a new fiscal stimulus package. Read more about last week's market and economy news.
SEI Update: International Diversification
In their latest update, SEI explores Why Does Global Diversification Make Sense? We agree with their assessment that “balancing risk exposures across the globe may reduce risk without reducing return”—especially this year. Election years are always unique, but 2020 is particularly nuanced with the addition of the global health crisis.

These guilt-free brownies are "yummy" according to the youngest Blattel grandchild. You would never guess that they're vegan and flourless! Serve them warm and see if anyone guesses.
