Inclusive Excellence Week is a five-day event dedicated to celebrating and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion across Wright State University. Volunteers are needed for marketing, logistics, events, and more and can expect 5-10 hours of service per week from September 15 to October 20. Mental Health Matters: A Community Conversation

Come together with your neighbors to discuss mental health challenges in our community with experts who are combating this growing crisis. This event is Hosted by the Dayton Daily News, the Greater Dayton Area Hospital Association (GDAHA), and Wright State University.
The evening will include inspiring conversations promoting recovery and healthy communities and discussing how we can improve access to treatment, crisis response, and recovery support.

Study Abroad Fair

This fair is an excellent opportunity for students to explore travel options to over 40 countries, with program durations ranging from 1-2 weeks up to a full semester. Attendees will also have the chance to learn about scholarships, meet with our representatives, and enjoy various activities, including raffles, pizza, and popcorn.

Allyship in Action Program

The Allyship in Action Professional Development Program (formerly Safe Space Ally Development Training) dares to transform the campus environment for LGBTQA+ students, staff, and faculty. Through skills-based education that focuses on social justice allyship and active bystander intervention skills, individuals and offices are identified that provide a network of support for the emotional, psychological, social, and physical well-being of our LGBTQA+ community.
Allyship in Action is created for faculty and staff professional development, but students are more than welcome to join us!

Wright State welcomes Emily Hanako Momohara, professor of photography at the Art Academy of Cincinnati. The evening will begin with a screening of Momohara's new film NAMBA: A Japanese American's Incarceration and Life of Resilience (45 mins). After brief remarks and a Q&A, please join us for a reception in the Stein Galleries, where some of Momohara's photography is included in the FotoFocus exhibit ReWritten.

Kick off National Hispanic Heritage Month by volunteering at Dayton's Hispanic Heritage Festival anytime between 11am-11pm. Enjoy Latin foods, live music, connecting with the local Latino community, and so much more. Also join the Latino Center and the Amigos Latinos Student Association float during the Hispanic Heritage Festival Parade (taking place at 12pm).

Volunteer to Be an NCCJ Teen Summit Facilitator!

The NCCJ Teen Summit brings together 20+ high schools from the Greater Dayton area for a day of learning centered around DEI topics and is looking for DEI-Passionate individuals to be facilitators and lead small group activities with the youth during the event. This year's theme is "The Power of Connection: Building a Better World with Social Media." This event is co-sponsored by the College of Liberal Arts.
Volunteers need to attend one (1) orientation session, October 8 OR 15, and be available for the entirety of the Teen Summit event on October 22. Please review the full details and complete your interested form using the link in the title above.

Girls on the Run coaches are trained volunteers who lead a team of participants through a season of powerful and fun lessons. You do not need to be a runner; you simply need to have a desire to support and encourage the next generation. The Sapphire Jubilee is sponsored by the Wright State Alumni Association's African American Alumni Society and other community sponsors and stakeholders. It is the signature fundraiser for the African American Alumni Society Scholarship and helps support the mission and work of the Bolinga Center at Wright State University.
