Tell us a brief history of your business.
  • Uchee Trail is a semi-private club in Cochran, GA. The club was started in 1966 when a group of Bleckley County citizens interested in having a golf course and other recreation facilities began making plans. Construction began in 1968 and the facilities were completed & a 9-hole golf course was opened in September 1969. Subsequently an additional nine holes were opened in the mid-nineties making it a full 18-hole golf course.

What services and/or products does your business offer?
  • Uchee Trail offers an 18-hole golf course, stocked pro shop, driving range, practice putting green, and a multi-use building available for rent for members and guests. We offer individual, family, and corporate membership.
 
What are your hours of operation?
  • Monday-Friday: 7:30 am - 7:00 pm
  • Saturday & Sunday: 7:00 am -7:00 pm
 
How many employees do you currently have on staff?
  • 7
 
Why did you become a member of the Chamber of Commerce?
  • We chose to join the chamber to support the community and to increase our profile as a business.
 
Any exciting things we can expect to see in the future?
  • Every Tuesday starting May 1 during Daylight Saving Time we are holding a 9-hole two-person scramble with cash prizes and a closest to the pin cash prize. Thursday, May 17 at 12:00 pm we are hosting a Sheriffs' Youth Home tournament. Wednesday, July 4 is our traditional Tough Man Tournament. Call and check Facebook for additional events and tournaments.
 
What advice would you give someone looking to open their own business?
  • Work hard, reinvest in your business, hire well, and reward hard work.

The Citizens Bank of Cochran Welcomes William C. Coody, Jr. aka. BJ Coody

President/CEO, Chuck Harwell, the Board of Directors and the Officers/staff of The Citizens Bank of Cochran and Community Bank of Dublin-Laurens County are pleased to announce that BJ Coody has joined the Bank in the position of Assistant Vice President in Cochran, GA.

BJ will be responsible for Consumer and Commercial Lending.

He graduated from the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business in Athens, GA with a BBA in Economics. BJ brings 11 years of experience and a proven track record of success in the Lending area, which will be valuable in meeting the departmental goals and objectives.

BJ is a resident of Bleckley County, along with his wife Kari and two children, Edy (5) and Cooper (3). They are members of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Cary, GA.
