Transition Moves Forward
This Sunday, June 13, we will take another important step in our transition to the future as we commission our Parish Profile and Search Committees. The Profile Team will work closely with the Diocesan Transition Office, me as your interim priest, and YOU as a congregation to develop a parish profile.
A profile is the core document that is used to help the Search Committee in their quest for a new Rector.
Please pray for both teams and give them your utmost support in their mission.
And here are your representatives:
Profile Committee: Albert Zimmerman, Shelly Zak, Maggie Spalding, Sue Egan, Tina van der Velden, Susan Ghormley, Darryl Tillman, Mary Ann Cronin, Wayne Hastings, Hal Yee, Joyce Alley, Robin Pano.

Search Committee: Alex Sams, Fabrizio Pelá, Anna Eakins, Joy Bacon, Kelly Lynch, Mark Hamilton.
8:00am Service Resumes - Sunday June 20, Chapel
Some things to know:
  • This will be a “said” service. No music.
  • You do not need to sign-up online to attend, but you will need to sign-in on arrival with name and contact information for contact tracing purposes.
  • Masking and social distancing is required.
Covid Restrictions Easing
With each passing week we see an easing of COVID restrictions. Your Clergy and Vestry are continuously looking at the guidance to ensure we can minister safely. We have returned to a “mini-procession” at the beginning of the service. Clergy and readers no longer wear masks during the Service of the Word to make it easier for you to hear and understand. Coffee hour is back! You do not need to self-quarantine (thus missing worship) following domestic travel IF you are FULLY vaccinated. You can expect to see other restrictions lifted soon.

What is the most important thing you can do to move the process forward? Get vaccinated if possible and encourage others to do so. The vaccine is safe and effective. For more information on the vaccine, see: https://covid19.ca.gov/vaccines/
A message from Jude+
Last Sunday at St. Francis - June 27
Several people have shared with me their worries about the future, and I think it fair to say that many others have those worries too. I have always found comfort in this prayer by Thomas Merton, who admits he is often lost and can’t see the road ahead, but he believes that his desire to please God is enough, and he prays to have that desire in all things and commits to trusting God. May this comfort you as well.

Reserve Your Place for Sunday Worship!

  • To attend the service you must reserve a place in advance so that we can manage social distancing and keep records as per Diocesan rules.
  • Click here to make your reservation. Please read details of our safety precautions when you reserve your place. Note - you don't need to print a paper ticket. We have an electronic record we refer to on Sunday mornings.
  • And dress in layers - the doors will be open for ventilation.
  • If you have problems with the online system please contact Mary in the church office - 310 375 4617.
  • Livestreamed worship will still continue - indefinitely - to take our mission out beyond our walls, and to those who cannot, or do not wish to attend in person. Our at-home congregation are loved and appreciated and not forgotten!
