Dear North Community Catholic School Families:
It has been a very busy week once again! By now you have most likely heard that our sister campus at St. John the Baptist is closing at the end of this year due to low enrollment. All of us in the North Community Catholic School know that this a very tough time for our families and staff at that campus. The St. John families had the opportunity to visit the Regina Coeli and Most Blessed Sacrament campuses on Thursday and Friday. We will welcome as many families as we can here, and Regina Coeli is working hard to do the same. We are confident that between the campuses, we can welcome any St. John family that wants to remain in NCCS. The remaining NCCS campuses are also trying to fill as many of our open faculty positions as possible with staff members from the St. John Campus. Please keep the entire St. John the Baptist Community in your prayers, and I know you will join me in welcoming our new community members to our campus in the fall.
Next week will no doubt be a whirlwind of activities as we bring the 2015-2016 academic year to a close. We will celebrate kindergarten graduation, and we also celebrate the Pin and Ribbon Ceremony and 8th grade graduation! On Friday following Mass, we will have our honors assembly to recognize students in grades 4-7. Don't forget-- The last day is early dismissal at 11:30! I know the students will be happy about that!
Have a great weekend!
Peace and Blessings,
Mrs. Beth Strbik
Principal

We'll provide the main dish, beverage, music and fun - FOR FREE - all you have to do is sign-up to volunteer and show up to work your scheduled shifts at the festival.
More details to follow. In the meantime, check out the parish website
blessedsacramenttoledo.com for links to open volunteer opportunities. If you need help signing up, please call the Parish Center at 419-472-2288!
See you at the festival - June 2-5, 2016!

Most Blessed Sacrament Festival

There are many types of opportunities available - from selling tickets to preparing food to staffing kids' games. It's a great opportunity to meet new parish families and to continue to strengthen the friendships you already have.
We need many helping hands to set up the festival on Tuesday, May 31 and Wednesday, June 1; and tear down after 5:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, June 5. All are great opportunities for junior and high school student service hour needs.

Nurse Information
Health Screenings
|
It's that time of the year where I will begin performing the state mandated health screenings for the students. Students in Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, all new students, and teacher referred students from grades 2, 4, 6, and 8, will be screened for hearing and vision.
If your student doesn't pass the first screen, I will rescreen in 4-6 weeks. If your student does not pass the rescreen, I will send home a referral form for a doctor visit. Once your child has been seen, the doctor's office will send the report to the school to be a part of your child's health records.
Scoliosis screening, for detection of spinal curvature, will be conducted on all students in grades 6, 7, and 8.
If you do not want your child screened, please send a note to school with your child's name, grade, and the screen you are refusing.
Thank you,
