Dear Sally,

Blessed are THE MEEK …

they shall INHERIT THE EARTH … Matthew 5:5

What do the meek look like?

1. The Meek are submissive … which is the fruit of ABIDING In Christ. John 15:1-10.

2. They have union, communion, connection, and a readiness to conform to God’s will.

3. They are Patient & gentle under wrong because Christ is indwelling Romans 8:6-13.

4. They Cooperate to be emptied of the Self-life. Then iniquities are subdued Micah 7:19

5. They Let Self be dethroned. Self-no longer holds supremacy in the soul. It is through Self-abnegation that Christ redeems the LOST.

6. The meek actively choose to let Christ abide and rule instead of their flesh! They actively say, “I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live--Not I but Christ lives in me.” Gal 2:20. “If any man will come after Me--let Him deny himself” Matt 11:29. In Christ!

7. The Meek take the form of God’s servant, with a mission to serve others.

8. The meek surrender to do His will and live a life of peace amidst conflicts--trusting Him.

Moses was the meekest man the bible says. But I relate more with John, the beloved, depicting meekness. John was younger than the other disciples and he OPENED HIS HEART to Jesus with the CONFIDING TRUST and HERO WORSHIP of YOUTH. John was close to Jesus and surrenders himself more fully to the Master’s way of life. John was the most receptive and teachable, so his reflection of Christ’s character was deeper and fuller than the other disciples. John says, “In Him was life!” John 1:4, 11-12. So, it can be with us! Enjoy this nature setting to be close with God!
