"Blessed Are The POOR in Spirit …"

They have the Kingdom … Matthew 5:2-3

Who are they?

1.    The poor in Spirit, are the few that sense, “their” spiritual poverty …

2.    They open their hearts to Him to LISTEN, LEARN & COOPERATE.

3.    They See that all they have ever done is mingled with self and sin.

4.    In His pure presence ... See they’re “wretched, miserable, poor, blind, naked” Rev 3:17

5.    They are penitent of their self-led life & forgiven … Isaiah 1:18 … Ezek 36:26-7

6.    They choose to serve God willingly--no longer putting off or resisting doing God’s will.

7.    They Desire to change, to reveal Christ in them, working Redemption from sin.

8.    Those that are rich--needing nothing--scorn/distain the gift of Christ Helping them!

9.    The Poor in Spirit are under conviction of personal sin through the Holy Spirit.

They appreciate Christ as their Only Helper and seek to do His will.

10. Their attitude is--I’m God’s servant. They do not Resist God’s entreaty to do right.

11. Theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven! This Kingdom is not an earthly but a spiritual

kingdom where Love and Grace are Ruling in their lives. By Coming to Jesus, they

find power & strength to do the right!

12. Christ is able to save to the uttermost all who Come unto Me. Matt 11:28 Repentant!

As the Poor in Spirit cooperate with the Holy Spirit, their character becomes more and more like His. They are set FREE … In Him they are no longer slaves to the flesh … they receive His Power. May we all choose to take Christ’s hand and walk with Him!
