Blessing of New ILC Members

At this week’s 10:15 am service, we are praying for new members.

"Almighty God, by the love of Jesus Christ you draw people to yourself and welcome them into the household of faith. May we show your joy by embracing new brothers and sisters as we bear your creative and redeeming word to all the world. Keep us close together in your Spirit, in the breaking of bread and the prayers, and in service to others, following the example of Jesus Christ, our servant and Lord.

One Service April 7

Please note that there will be only one service on Sunday, April 7 at 10: 15 because Pastor John’s installation service will be held at 2 p.m. that day too.

Easter Lily Orders

Celebrate and honor a loved one by placing an order for an Easter lily plant - $11 each. All funds raised go towards the Capital Campaign. All orders must be placed before April 12. Please complete this order form and email to office@immanuellc.org .

Baby Spirit Date Changes

The dates of the April and May Baby Spirit classes have been changed to accommodate church holidays and the education wing closing. Baby Spirit will be April 7 and May 5 instead of the second Sunday of the month. Baby Spirit does not meet June-September.

Assess Storage Needs at Immanuel

Take a walk through Immanuel's Education Wing (not on Tuesdays or Thursdays please) to assess what your storage needs are going to be. We're going to have to empty the ENTIRE Education Wing for renovations. Boxes should work for most items, but will you need plastic bins? This is pre-planning for the April 6 all-Immanuel clean up day!

Clean Up Day at ILC

Mark April 6 on your calendar for the Clean Up Day at Immanuel! It'll be fellowship, packing for renovations, and doing a thorough cleaning at the same time! Stop by to help or just to say hello!

Guardian Angels

If you are looking for an opportunity to help migrant youth, consider this. “Guardian Angels,” an ELCA AMMPARO program, offers physical, spiritual and emotional accompaniment of migrant minors and their families. The Synod’s Immigration & Refugee Task Force hopes to start a program at Hartford’s immigration court. Two volunteers, one using Spanish-speaking skills, and the other, note taking skills, will work together. They will talk with migrants and their families before their court time and then be in the courtroom. It’s been found that with “Guardian Angels” present, judges & officials treat the young person with more respect. Watch the ELCA video: Guardian Angels: An Introduction. On Sept.r 14 at 9:30 a.m., Mary Campbell, director of AMMPARO, will train us in a 3+-hour session at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Hartford, CT. Guardian Angels will commit to volunteer two times a year, 8:30 a.m. to noon, on the 1 ^st and 3 ^rd Thursdays of the month. To sign up or ask for more information, contact Doreen Rinas.
