Summer Family Vacations š“ We love seeing our kiddos make new memories over the summer. Place of Hope is unwavering about providing family summer vacations for the youth and children in our care. Not only are they having fun and bonding as a family, but also learning about so many great things across our Nation. Creating new memories help our youth heal from their traumas, find self-worth, write new futures and be inspired!
As a supporter of Place of Hope, you are creating these opportunities and helping make these new memories!
THANK YOU!

Our Honda Classic Cottage turns 8 years old this month! This cottage serves our Extended Foster Care (EFC) youth who have legally aged out of the system, but remain under DCF supervision. Just one year before this cottage opened, the state of Florida passed a law allowing youth who would normally age-out of licensed care at age 18 to opt to stay in care until age 21 while finishing school or gaining work skills and experience.
Since opening the doors to our Honda Classic Cottage, together with the support of the community, we have served 30 young people bridging them into healthy adulthood through our transitional, independent living program! We are grateful for The Honda Classic's leadership and generosity.

Our Shade Tree Family Outreach Program provides family outreach and intervention programs, family strengthening initiatives and critical services to families and children who are navigating the child welfare system.
Shade Tree Family Outreach also promotes child abuse and neglect prevention and awareness, and child advocacy.

Recently, a 14 year old sex trafficking survivor was served through Shade Tree.
We also served a family caregiver who opened their home to take in overnight three siblings ranging in age from 1 year old to five years old.
Just in July, together with our friends Hands & Feet, and New Creations Missionary, we were able to serve over 4,000 children and families locally, domestically and internationally! We are grateful for these ministries and for our community who pours in with the material support we need to serve our community and its most vulnerable.

Just as fast as summer came, it went! Our kiddos are getting ready to go back to school, and thanks to several community supporters, they will have all the school supplies they need to hit the books! Recently, JP Morgan Chase - PGA Branch hosted a back to school collection for our kids!
|
|
The back to school countdown has begun! Recently, Seacoast Utility Authority hosted a back to school drive for school supplies, snacks, and uniforms for our kids at Place of Hope! We know that filling tummies is just as important to our kid's success as filling backpacks and we are so grateful for their support!

"I have always had a passion for working with kids. Being a youth leader at church groomed me to be able to share Christ with others. Being able to share the love of Christ through my profession was an even greater benefit for working at Place of Hope. Helping bridge the gap in youth with trauma to adulthood and helping them know that there is a purpose for their lives no matter what the situation looks like is very important to me as I also experienced trauma in my own life. Helping them to understand that with God Anything is possible for them no matter their history is what keeps me motivated to help them." Marc Davis, Program Specialist, Seven Stars Emergency Cottage
After building a relationship and discipling one of the youth in the Seven Stars Emergency Cottage, Marc realized an opportunity to adopt him and become his forever family.

One of the best ways to bless our foster families is with family meal donations! With school starting up, these are needed now especially. Like many families, our cottage parents are managing busy schedules for six kids including family visits, therapy, school, tutoring, mentoring, extra curricular activities, team sports and more! Donate a family meal to serve 8-10 people. This can be homemade, store bought or ordered & delivered! Schedule a meal donation today and bless a foster family!
