Blessings of Solstice, Hanukkah & Christmas light,
This time of year's closing reminds us that light, even the smallest flame makes a large impact in the darkness. When such a flame is set alight with intentions of love, healing, and hope the light extends beyond the eye to distant places.
At New Mexico & El Paso Interfaith Power and Light we seek to be a community of lights all year long. You are part of the heart flames working to care for our Sacred Earth and Communities.
Thank you. Take a look at some of the ways we influenced light for justice, hope and change in 2022. As always your prayers, work and donations are important in this work.
As we celebrate the mysteries in life, offer love to neighbors, family, friends and all in the Sacred Earth Community, let us be intentional hearts of light.
This poem by Jan Ruchardson is inspirational for me these days.
Perhaps it does not begin.
Perhaps it is always.
Perhaps it takes
a lifetime
to open our eyes
to learn to see
what has forever
shimmered in front of us--
The luminous line
of the map
in the dark
the vigil flame
in the house
of the heart
the love so searing
we can't keep from singing
from crying out.
Perhaps this day
the light begins
in us.
Peace, Love and Light these holy days,
Sr. Joan and all at NM & EL Paso Interfaith Power and Light
