Blinded From the Light of the Gospel
|
God's inspired Word warns us that Satan is blinding unbelievers from the light of the Gospel and the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. Paul writes, "if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God" (2 Cor. 4:3-4). Satan knows man's greatest problem is sin and his only hope of deliverance from God's wrath is through the Gospel of Christ. That is why the Father of Lies uses everything in his power to keep unbelievers blinded from the saving power of the Gospel (Rom. 1:16).
Religious Indoctrination Blinds People From Truth
There are many devices God's adversary uses to keep unbelievers in darkness, but his most powerful tool may be religious indoctrination. When I was catechized as a young Catholic boy, I was pressured into submitting my mind, intellect and will to the "infallible" teachings and traditions of the "one true church." I did not know the Gospel because it was veiled under layers and layers of religious tradition. The light of the Gospel remained veiled because Catholic priests told me the Bible was too difficult to understand, so I never opened it until age 35. The veil of blindness that covered my heart remained until months later when I turned to Christ (2 Cor. 3:14-16). Most Catholics have had similar experiences. From the time they could think as little children, their minds were taken captive to errant religious teachings and traditions. As they grew older, many of them developed a fierce loyalty to their religion and refused to exchange it for a relationship with the one true God.
Religious Pride Keeps People in Darkness
Religious pride is another device Satan uses to veil the Gospel from those who are perishing. This type of haughtiness flows from a fierce, unbending loyalty to a person or institution. It is for this reason many Catholics refuse to engage in spiritual conversations with Christians. Their spiritual arrogance arises from the erroneous teaching that the Catholic Church is the one true church and necessary for salvation (CCC, 846). Their refusal to consider the Gospel of grace arises from the fear of forfeiting their salvation if they were ever to leave the Catholic Church. The same paragraph 846 teaches that Catholics cannot be saved if they do not remain in the Catholic Church.
A Tragic Example of Religious Pride
I witnessed this religious pride in my uncle, a Catholic priest of 61 years. He spent 30 years in Burma (Myanmar) converting Hindus and Buddhists to Catholicism. When he returned to America, I always looked forward to sharing God's Gospel with him. Sadly, each and every time, he rebuked me with a condescending attitude for questioning his priestly position of authority. Blinded by religious pride, he dismissed my references to God's Word because of a stubborn confidence in his priestly rituals and rites. Clearly, his religious arrogance was the greatest obstacle that prevented him from coming to Christ with genuine saving faith. Instead, he was content to continue offering the same daily sacrifices which can never take away sin (Heb. 10:11).
God's Truth Sets Captives Free
The ongoing battle for the souls of men is ultimately a conflict between the eternal truths of God's Word and the fatal lies of the devil. Satan does a masterful job of creating a variety of works-righteousness religions to control people and conceal God's Gospel of grace. He knows that anyone who adds works to God's saving grace has nullified the only way of salvation (Rom. 11:6). The Father of Lies uses his deceitful workers, disguised as servants of righteousness, to control people with religious rituals for the purpose of appeasing their gods (2 Cor. 11:14-15). The only way they can escape from the snare of the devil, who holds them captive to do his will, is through a knowledge of the truth (2 Tim. 2:26). Only the truth of God's Word can set them free (John 8:31-32). Yet, the greatest obstacle to learning the truth is to believe that you already know it.
There Is a Cure for Spiritual Blindness
Supernatural blindness can only be overcome by the sovereign work and power of the Holy Spirit. When the Word of God is proclaimed, and the Spirit of God does His work of conviction and illumination, men will see the light of the Gospel (John 16:8-11, 13-15; 1 Cor. 2:12). It is God who shines "in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ" (2 Cor. 4:6). By God's amazing grace, believers are delivered from the power of darkness into the glorious light of God's kingdom. May God give us all a greater compassion for those who are where we once were!

Letters to Edify and Encourage the Saints
|
Hi Mike, Your latest video shows the continuing progress of the ecumenical movement to seduce many so-called Christian denominations and leaders, just as the Bible foretold would happen at the end of the church age. Thank you for identifying them so that viewers may be alerted and warned of their compromise. Thank you for reminding us of the history of persecution against those who refused to capitulate to Rome. Thank you for pointing out some of the important differences between Rome and the Bible, especially the Eucharist and Francis Chan’s complete defection to Rome. Actually, some of the video made us sick to our stomachs as we watched people pay homage to such anti-Christ liars and blasphemers. It is truly mind-blowing how these people can act contrary to the plain teaching of Scripture that they profess to follow. Are they simply deluded and deceived or do they know they are embracing what is contrary to Scripture? Do they not fear God? Thank you for quoting Paul in Galatians where he strongly warns against false gospels. Do these false teachers not realize that God’s punishment will be more tolerable for Sodom than it will be for them since they also lead others astray? May God use your video to wake up Christians and to free from spiritual bondage those who have been deceived into following this ecumenical path toward a satanic, one world, false religion. J.R., Costa Mesa, CA
I think Mike Gendron is a fraud. I don't think he grew up as a practicing Catholic. I think it's just a claim to legitimize his "conversion" and appeal more to the sensibilities of gullible Catholics he seeks to convert. I'm sure he never made the slightest attempt to understand the Catholic Church, Maybe he took a few anti-Catholic tracts to heart and now has a huge axe to grind for spending so much of his life in willful ignorance. Peter M., Internet
Hi Mr. Gendron, You are an answer to my long time prayers of finding truth. I was born and raised in the Catholic Church. Attended a Catholic university and have a nun and a priest in my family. Needless to say, I was heavily indoctrinated. After many prayers for God to show me the truth, the pandemic led me out of the Catholic Church to a Bible teaching church where a woman bought me your book Preparing for Eternity. Unfortunately my entire family is Catholic. I am hoping your books and your videos will give me confidence to know scripture and speak truth to them. My question for you is my sister is getting married in the Catholic Church and asked me to bring up the gifts (Eucharist and wine). How do I handle this biblically? A., Internet
Hi A., I praise God for setting you free from religious bondage and giving you new life in Christ. Regarding your question, I would use it as a teaching moment. Let your sister know that you love her but your love for your Lord and Savior is much greater. Tell her that you cannot participate in bringing the gifts because the Eucharist is a false Christ that the priest will offer as a blasphemous sin offering. There are no more sin offerings because Jesus died once for all sin for all time (Hebrews 10:10-18). Here is a video message that contrasts the true Christ, and His finished work of redemption, with the false Christ in the Eucharist. Since weddings are life events, it would be good for you to attend, just not participate in the Mass.

Gospel Compromisers Need to Be Reproved
|
All the ecumenical unity accords that evangelicals have signed with Roman Catholics since the 1990's are wreaking havoc in the visible church. Many evangelicals do not know if the Roman Catholic Church is a mission field that needs to be evangelized or a Christian denomination that is made up of brothers and sisters in Christ. A survey of 1000 pastors by Lifeway Research reported 58% of evangelical pastors believe the pope is a true Christian. Clearly the Gospel of God has been so compromised that the majority of evangelicals do not know what a true Christian is. This short video reveals how compromised many evangelicals have become. The audio is taken from a recent message by Mike Gendron at The Master's Seminary Chapel.

Catholic Agrees They Have Another Jesus
|
A Catholic apologist has affirmed that the Jesus of the Catholic Church is not the Jesus of Protestant churches. He said, "There is a Catholic Jesus and a Protestant Jesus and they are not really related on the most basic things. The 'Protty Jesus' is not really present in the Eucharist, did not establish a formal visible church, instituted no sacraments to speak of, has given all authority over to a book and not really said how that book is to be interpreted. The 'Protty Jesus' does not care how you live your life as long as you believe on Him." Watch video.

Pope Francis Compares Jesus and Buddha
|
Pope Francis spoke about the teachings of Jesus and the Buddha during a meeting with a Buddhist delegation from Thailand. The pope said, “The Buddha and Jesus understood the need to overcome the egoism that gives rise to conflict and violence. Our task today is to guide our respective followers to a more vivid sense of the truth that we are all brothers and sisters." Read more.

Our New Gospel Tract
"It is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment" (Heb. 9:27). At that moment, we will either experience the everlasting joy of heaven or the eternal fires of hell. It stands to reason that preparing for eternity may be the most important issue in this life. We can be wrong about a lot of things and still survive, but if we are wrong about eternity, we will pay for that mistake forever and ever! Order here.
