Testimony to who Jesus is for us

In today’s Gospel we hear these words: “This is my Beloved Son in Whom I am Well pleased.”

These words were heard as Jesus was baptized by St. John the Baptist. Jesus was baptized to make the water holy for us by the water He touched. O Lord, you share Your Spirit with us to transform us into Your sons and daughters, and forgive us our sins and share in the relationship You have with Your Father. Give us the grace today to recognize the great gift Baptism is for us. That we too are the beloved of Our Father. Help us to live always in that grace each day with an awareness of the gift You came to share with us. Amen.
