Bloody Man!!! 10/10/21
1 Samuel 30:1-6 (KJV)
1 And it came to pass, when David and his men were come to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the south, and Ziklag, and smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire;
2 And had taken the women captives, that were therein: they slew not any, either great or small, but carried them away, and went on their way.
3 So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives.
4 Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.
5 And David's two wives were taken captives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite.
6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.

It is 5:45 AM and I have been up since 12:22 AM, having slept 2 hours and 22 minutes!!
That is my dilemma and my pain and my problem-please forgive my whining-JUST THE FACT!!
I am up with the Word of the Lord BURNING in my heart and I am up-not by choice-but by the fact I gotta give to ANYBODY who will receive my words today.
King David, by all written account and sacred recorded history of our Holy Bible was NOT-in most people's view and opinion-a very nice/good man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In fact, if you study your Bible, you will discover his MANY character flaws.
He was recorded accurately as being a bloody man:
2 Samuel 16:7-8 (KJV)
7 And thus said Shimei when he cursed, Come out, come out, thou bloody man, and thou man of Belial:
8 The LORD hath returned upon thee all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose stead thou hast reigned; and the LORD hath delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom thy son: and, behold, thou art taken in thy mischief, because thou art a bloody man.
In fact, King David was so bad that God would not even let him build God's House!!!
1 Chronicles 22:7-8 (KJV)
7 And David said to Solomon, My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God:
8 But the word of the LORD came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build an house unto my name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.
“King” David was also a MURDERER and ADULTERER!!!
2 Samuel 11:2-5 (KJV)
2 And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king's house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon.
3 And David sent and enquired after the woman. And one said, Is not this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?
4 And David sent messengers, and took her; and she came in unto him, and he lay with her; for she was purified from her uncleanness: and she returned unto her house.
5 And the woman conceived, and sent and told David, and said, I am with child.
Can you say ouch??????
This “man after God's own heart” was so bad and wicked that he slept with one of his most loyal friend and servant and to “add insult to injury” she became impregnated by David!!
THEN, to top off his SIN, he ordered his friend and loyal servant to be KILLED in battle:
2 Samuel 11:14-15 (KJV)
14 And it came to pass in the morning, that David wrote a letter to Joab, and sent it by the hand of Uriah.
15 And he wrote in the letter, saying, Set ye Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retire ye from him, that he may be smitten, and die.
Still/YET God called him:
1 Samuel 13:14 (KJV)
14 But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the LORD commanded thee.
Acts 13:22 (KJV)
22 And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.
OK preacher, you made your point-David was not a model or role-model Christian!!!
In the above mentioned Scripture found in 1 Samuel 30, we found that David had possibly made ANOTHER huge mistake-a military blunder one might say.
This man David, TRYING to follow God and do God's business had left his wife/wives and children AND the wives of children of his “congregation” UN-protected!!!!!
He had commanded his men to go fight God's battle and somehow neglected to leave enough men to protect their own.................................
When he and his men returned home they discovered their erroneous way and David's admirers quickly became, hmmm, how can I write this-ANGRY at him!
In fact, SO ANGRY they wanted to “STONE HIM!!!!!”

They wanted to KILL him!!!!
“BUT DAVID ENCOURAGED HIMSELF IN THE LORD HIS GOD!!!!”
My point today, beloved, is that God LOVES you-in spite of yourself!!!!
YOU may have recently fallen???
You may have recently SINNED???
You may be a habitual sinner and a total loser!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you realize that three of the most prominent writers and characters in the Bible was MURDERERS!!!
MOSES, DAVID, PAUL all were MURDERERS!!! Look it up in your Bible!!!
YOU may be tired today-even exhausted and worn out from fighting God's battles?
YOU may feel UN-worthy of God's love??
You may, in fact, BE UNWORTHY of God's love!!!!!
YOUR critics may be many and CORRECT in THEIR assessment of you and your life.
But hear this:
John 3:16-17 (KJV)
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
TODAY-BE ENCOURAGED IN THE LORD!!!
YOU-YES YOU-BE ENCOURAGED IN THE LORD!!!
RIGHT NOW YOU BE ENCOURAGED IN THE LORD!!
No matter how bad or discouraged you may be or feel........................
