Bloom Senior Living's South Carolina communities celebrated Ms. Lucille Lipsitz's 90th birthday the best way we could during COVID-19.... with cake, cards, fun and her own personal parade.
Ms. Lucille has lived a remarkable life and is still flourishing. She started her life weighing only 1 pound; and knew she had to live everyday as LARGE as possible. Ms. Lucille and her husband of over 50 years owned a department store in Downtown Beaufort, SC for more than 5 decades while also raising 2 sons and 2 daughters. She lives life on the edge -- on her 84th birthday, she went skydiving! On her 85th birthday, she took a ride around Bluffton on the back of a motorcycle! Now she spends her days blooming with

Bloom cannot thank our families and the community of Bluffton enough for coming out to help celebrate Ms. Lucille! The smile on her face while the community was driving by, honking and chanting her name is a priceless memory no one will ever forget. When Ms. Lucille got back inside, she told us: "I can’t believe that was all for me!” That line sums up our purpose at Bloom! This virus will not stop Bloom from delivering upon one of our core Bloom Beliefs: Make Memories! Thank you again to everyone for celebrating Ms. Lucille. We are lucky to be in such a great community!
