Bloom Senior Living currently has zero resident cases and one associate case of COVID-19 throughout its nine communities in Florida, Indiana, Ohio, South Carolina and Louisiana. We had one new (asymptomatic) resident case and three new associate cases since our last update. The resident and two of the three associates have been cleared. Despite continuing to loosen restrictions, our infection rates remain low and we're able to mitigate any spread. At the same time, the residents are doing well and we continue reopening communities safely. The charts below, reflecting "active" and "total/cumulative" resident and associates cases, have been updated.

Testing & Vaccine Updates
Per Ohio's mandates for assisted living, we're testing Bloom at Lakewood associates every two weeks. We're happy to report that everyone again tested negative on our latest round. Bloom at Lakewood has had zero (resident or associate) COVID-19 cases.
Bloom has been testing associates at its three South Carolina communities weekly, because we decided, in the best interest of residents/families, to commence visitation despite the county positive occurrence rate. We had no cases at Bloom at Belfair and Bloom at Bluffton. We had three associate cases at Bloom at Hilton Head since our last update. We temporarily suspended visitation, group activities and communal dining at the community. After testing residents and confirming everyone was negative, we resumed social distance dining and activities. We retested the associates and everyone is negative. Visitation will resume on October 28, 2020 per the Department of Health & Environmental Control ("DHEC") regulations. Since the positivity rate in Beaufort County has now decreased to 3.4 %, we'll follow the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' ("CMS") guidelines and test monthly in South Carolina. Should the positive occurrence rate increase above 5%, we'll modify our testing approach accordingly.
As of our last update, we were in the process of testing all residents and associates at Bloom at Bossier (due to a positive associate case in Louisiana) and temporarily suspending dining, activities and visitation. We had one positive (asymptomatic) resident case (who has now been cleared) and received over 120 negative results. We await two test results and will then update Bossier families about resuming activities, dining and visitation.
Our processes, and urgent actions, in South Carolina and Louisiana have worked effectively as we safely reopen and keep our residents and families connected and blooming.
In a more general update regarding testing and the vaccine, we continue to believe that the rapid antigen test is one important diagnostic tool for operators working to keep seniors safe, increase visitation, loosen restrictions and prepare for the simultaneous threat of coronavirus and influenza. Abbott Laboratories BinaxNOW COVID-19 rapid antigen tests continue to be sent by United States Department of Health and Human Services ("HHS") to assisted living communities and State Governors. We've been advised that 270,000 test kits have been sent to communities in red and yellow counties that have a CLIA Certificate of Waiver. HHS will continue sending kits to communities through December, but at that point, companies will be responsible for securing their own access through Abbott or other sources. The CDC provided broad based testing guidance, which can be found here, for antigen and the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test in congregate settings. The antigen test can produce results in as few as 15 minutes, compared to the PCR test which could take several days. Bloom secured Abbott BinaxNOW COVID-19 rapid antigen tests at five of its nine communities. We're currently evaluating the best use of these tests and requirements by state. We continue to maintain a strong partnership with Assurance Scientific Laboratories who conducts PCR molecular diagnostic tests (the gold standard) for Bloom.
The industry continues to ensure that senior care providers have priority access to a vaccine if and when it's approved and ready for safe distribution. We've been advised that HHS and the Department of Defense announced that the government will partner with pharmacy chains, including CVS and Walgreens, to distribute the COVID-19 vaccine, at no cost, to residents and staff of assisted living and other residential care settings on a prioritized basis. Senior care providers will be able to opt in during October. Bloom has already done this. For those residents that wish to take the vaccine, they will receive a tremendous benefit by living at Bloom, or in other settings, that have priority access.

Influenza Season & COVID-19
As announced during our prior updates and recent release, Bloom implemented and is following its Flu Prevention and Response Plan ("Flu Plan"), in conjunction with its Pandemic Rapid Response Plan, to protect our Bloom community as we enter influenza season. October 25, 2020 marks a significant day in our Flu Plan since all associate and resident education will be completed, and all but one Flu Clinic will be completed (Bloom at Hilton Head will be completed October 28, 2020). We'll then move into the surveillance portion of our Flu Plan. We continue to encourage anyone coming into Bloom communities to get the influenza vaccination. Given the pandemic, it's more critical than ever to be vaccinated.

"Back On Track Plan"
A prior update laid out (simply) Phases I, II, II Plus and III of Bloom's Back On Track Plan. As you'll see below, we continue to further relax restrictions and visitation at Bloom communities. We happily report that seven of our nine communities are in Phase III, and the remaining two should hopefully be in Phase III shortly.

Phase II
The following two Bloom communities moved back into Phase II of our Back on Track Plan (due to positive cases discussed above):
- Bloom at Hilton Head (South Carolina)
- Bloom at Bossier (Louisiana)
This means the residents are enjoying, for example, group activities and communal dining with their friends. We'll be moving into Phase III, and resuming outdoor and indoor visitation, in these two communities as swiftly as possible.
Phase III
The following seven Bloom communities moved into Phase III of our Back on Track Plan:
- Bloom at German Church (Indiana)
- Bloom at Eagle Creek (Indiana)
- Bloom at Kokomo (Indiana)
- Bloom at St. Petersburg (Florida)
- Bloom at Belfair (South Carolina)
- Bloom at Bluffton (South Carolina)
This means our residents are enjoying, for example, group activities, communal dining with their friends, outside entertainment, outdoor visitation, indoor visitation and more. We're happy to welcome South Carolina families back into our communities since the last global update.
We continue to see the the positive impact of relaxed restrictions and being able to restore resident engagement and visitation with families and friends. All the hard work, protocols, partnerships, testing, tracking and learnings about this virus for the past seven months have been contributing factors. We also have confidence we can now mitigate any potential issues with the right tools. We caution; however, that we'll need to discontinue visitation temporarily should an occurrence arise per CMS and Centers for Disease Control guidelines.

Visitation Rules
Visitation must continue to be scheduled in advance through our electronic system, which can be found on our Bloom Senior Living website or by clicking below, subject to the following rules:
- Each community will have a designated space for indoor and outdoor visitation. You will be offered your preference of visit type upon arrival to the community.
- Visitation, regardless of indoor or outdoor, is required to be scheduled through the Bloom Senior Living electronic system. Designated times are available based on the state specification. If you don't have appointment, we wont be able to accommodate you.
- All visitors will be screened and temperatures taken prior to any visit with a resident. If screening criteria is not met, the visit will be denied. All visitors must wear a surgical grade mask or greater.
- All visitors will be required to maintain appropriate social distance of at least 6.”
- All visitors must be at least 18 years old or have the express permission of the Executive Director. Some states have age requirements for indoor visitation.

County Positive Occurrence Rates
You may be hearing reports from the media that COVID-19 cases are rising. At Bloom, we monitor the County positivity occurrence rate published each week by CMS (and hospitalization rates).
CMS has developed a green, yellow and red identification system for positivity occurrence rates. Below 5% is green, 5%-10% is considered yellow and red is any county in excess of 10%. The rates help determine safety measures for the communities and benchmarks for CMS guidelines. For instance, in counties that exceed a positivity occurrence rate over 10%, it may be required to temporarily suspend visitation. Our Bloom County positivity occurrence rates are as follows:
- Beaufort County, SC: 3.4% (decreasing)
- Bossier Parris, LA: 8.7% (increasing)
- Cuyahoga County, OH: 3.3% (increasing)
- Howard County, IN: 4.4% (decreasing)
- Marin County, IN: 6.6% (increasing)
- Pinnellas County, Fl: 4.2% (increasing)
