Bloom Senior Living Is Ready For The Next & Final Step As Leadership Encourages Its Bloomers To Get Vaccinated! |

In March 2020, Bloom Senior Living, like the rest of the World, was introduced to a novel virus targeting the senior population. If there ever was a time for Bloom to stand behind all its talk over the years about its Bloom Beliefs, aspirational mission, industry leading education, Zappos-inspired culture and willingness to put up whatever financial resources necessary, this was surely it! It’s been Bloom’s job for the past nine months to not only keep our residents safe from COVID-19, but continue to ensure the residents flourish and live life to their fullest potential.
Now, less than one year later, we’re on the cusp of putting this global pandemic behind us as Bloom residents and associates have been prioritized to receive the highly effective vaccine -- a critical juncture in our fight against COVID-19.
As Bloom communities ready for the next (& final) step in aiding prevention, Bloom Owner, Bradley Dubin, today received his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine manufactured by drug maker Pfizer at one of the company's California nursing homes / behavioral hospitals. "We know some people feel a little nervous about getting vaccinated, so I wanted to roll up my sleeve and show our community how we lead by example," said Mr. Dubin. Now that skilled nursing received the vaccine, Bloom expects its assisted living communities to be next in line (in short order), and the rest of the Bloom owners plan to take the vaccine in their state. In anticipation of that significant event, Bloom leadership is not only showing support for the company’s educational efforts -- encouraging residents and associates to take the vaccine as soon as its available in their community -- but are excited to start regularly getting back in and out of their communities throughout the Country!
Bloom believes that most of its Bloomers, within its unique family community, will ultimately choose to get vaccinated once they see the process is safe and public health efforts continue to ramp up. At this early stage, 95% of Bloom residents and 60% of Bloom associates have indicated their desire to get vaccinated; but with Bloom’s strong culture and education campaign in full swing, Bloom is committed to achieving widespread vaccine acceptance among its residents and associates.
"It's time for our residents to once again hug their grandchildren. It's time for our residents and families to gather for special occasions. It's time for our associates to come to work and feel 100% safe. And it's time for all the little things we do at Bloom every day to make our residents' and associates' lives so special resume in full swing," reports Bloom's Director of Operations, Scott Kantor. He added, "while our protocols, testing, social distancing and mask wearing have worked to keep our infection rates low, this highly effective vaccine is the most effective tool available for our Bloom Warriors to deliver the final blow we've been waiting for."
