"The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind."
Bob Dylan

We've now dipped our toes into 2021 and hopefully most have taken the time to reflect on what we learned from last year and what we will do better. The County Line team is entering the new year full of hope and appreciation for all the good things people are doing for themselves and for others. We continue to rally for those who use positive creativity in adjusting to the pandemic or any other roadblocks that come along — pivot and power on.

Discover good people and fun things to do in this issue. Admire the exquisite talent of artist Maureen Killaby. Read about one family's 132-mile journey across the Northeast Texas Trail and the comfort and confidence that comes with such an accomplishment. Meet a couple who bring much-needed beauty to many through their creative work at the Culture Club Art Gallery in Winnsboro. Sing along with uplifting tunes by award-winning songwriter Will Jennings.

Sometimes it's fun to just go where the wind takes us. Other times we need to be more mindful and at least adjust our sails. Whether you simply wander out for afternoon getaways here and there, or take time to plan for plenty of fun in 2021, let the wind carry you through the Upper East Side of Texas.

THIS TIME OF YEAR
We Made It!
Sing along loud and proud with Barry Manilow as we celebrate the new year and leave 2020 in the rearview mirror. This 1977 song, “Looks Like We Made It,” was co-written by Richard Kerr and East Texan Will Jennings. Learn more about Jennings and his long list of award-winning songs in the County Line archives.
ARTS AND CULTURE
One good thing to come out of the pandemic is it left entrepreneur Vic Clark with a lot of time on his hands. He and his wife Kelly own Culture Club Art Gallery in Winnsboro that features the works of local artists. He began pulling out some of his own art collection recently and decided to add those to the gallery. The new pieces include art by famous artists including Bernard Buffet, Pablo Picasso, Gustav Klimt, Henri Matisse, Salvador Dali, Andy Warhol, Jackson Pollack, Peter Max, Marc Chagall, and Rene Magritte. The gallery is open to the public and is a great way to experience art from all over the world as well as by local talent.
