Blowing Rock Holiday Stroll is Back!

Join us in Blowing Rock for the Holiday Stroll, a celebration of winter and the Christmas season in December. It’s like a town-wide holiday open house! Shops are open late, and a number of special guests and activities will make the glowing streets even more festive. This year the stroll is on Friday, December 13.

Take pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus from 4-8 pm.

Pickin’ Thistles at Blowing Rock Art & History Museum, 5-8pm

Look for strolling Carolers, Time TBA

Winter Art Fair at Blowing Rock Art & History Museum 4-8pm

Live Nativity Scene (with live animals) at Rumple Memorial Church 5-7pm.

Self-guided tours of the 1888 Museum and Edgewood Cottage Museum, ends 8pm

The Festival of Lights at Chetola Resort 5:30-9pm

There are also tasty treats to be had and stores will be open late!

Winter Snow Sports!

'Tis the season for playing in the snow! What better way to play than to enjoy all the High Country has to offer. We've got skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, tubing, skating, and much more! Our own, Appalachian Ski Mountain is open for skating and slated to open for skiing and snowboarding December 3!

Tweetsie Christmas Begins

Tweetsie Railroad is back open with the start of Tweetsie Christmas! Witness over one million sparkling twinkle lights on your open-air train ride through the mountains of Blowing Rock! Meet Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Gingerbread House. Delight in holiday treats like hot chocolate and roast s’mores by the fire, and be transported by the joyful sounds of carolers and our special Christmas show. Tickets must be reserved ahead of time.

WinterFest is Around the Corner!

After the festivities of the Holidays, things begin to calm down and winter really settles in. Well in Blowing Rock, we embrace it with a four-day winter celebration! Grab your coat and boots and come share in the warmth of our WinterFest traditions. Last year there was a beer garden, ice stroll, Chilly Chili Challenge, and much more!
