Helen White Art

The fact there hasn't been a newsletter since March tells me I've had my head up against an easel more often than not...and its true! New light-filled blossoms have already hit the website (click images, left, to see in detail) and a whole other series of work is just drying, plus loads more in the pipe-line...
Back in the real world, there are some things I should really be telling you about. First up:
Exhibition at Gallery Fifty Five

With the Opening NEXT SATURDAY 14th June, between 11am - 1pm (an opportunity to come and meet the artists) in this lovely, light-filled gallery space - click invite for the address.

The flavour of all my work, this time around, is blowsy, floral and reminiscent of gardens and overgrown summer hedgerows - the perfect excuse to put on your summer dress and come along for a morning of browsing and chat over tea and cakes or a glass of bubbles.

With the Hartley Wintney Village Festival also taking place that day, and so many lovely shops and stalls to look around in the High Street, there will be plenty going on - a really lovely way to spend a Saturday.
Another thing on my agenda has been visiting gardens, galleries and exhibitions...including Nottingham Castle Gallery, West Green, Petworth House, The Vyne, the Jam Factory and Modern Art in Oxford, then there's the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition coming up. Also the Cezanne and the Modern exhibition in Oxford's Ashmolean Museum - well worth the trip, this three room exhibition packed full of Cezanne, Degas, Manet, Van Gogh, Pissaro, Mondigliani...(etc) continues on until 22nd June with some late night openings so get along there if interested.

Also up my sleeve is my first venture into self-publication with an art-meets-life book cooking nicely on the back burner and all set to become my summer project.

More on all that - and about the still-drying paintings that are cramming my space - very soon. In the meantime, if you can make it to Gallery Fifty Five next week, a warm welcome awaits!
With love.
