Around Allen-Stevenson
A peek at what’s happening on 78th Street (and beyond) this month!
Lower Division (K-4)
Last Sunday kicked off the celebration of Lunar New Year! Kindergarteners were fortunate to have A-S parents share some of their own Lunar New Year traditions - including these beautiful lanterns.

The boys carefully followed directions and, with a little help, enjoyed a glowing and joyful experience before taking home their lanterns.
Upper Division (5-8)
Ms. Rivers' fifth-grade science & engineering students were learning about chemical reactions. The boys mixed hydrogen peroxide with dish soap, and then added yeast.

The yeast acts as a catalyst speeding up the chemical reaction, separating hydrogen peroxide into hydrogen and oxygen, and making bubbles.
