The A-Z Files
is a publication that features exemplary original work by A-S students and was designed to honor Zach Levy ’00. What more fitting way to honor the memory of a writer than to create a publication that highlights the writing of young people. Zach Levy loved to write. His love for words and stories lives on through the imagination of Allen-Stevenson boys.
team is happy to share the eighth edition of the journal with you. Allen-Stevenson’s continued support allows us to rekindle our fond memories and enthusiasm of Zach with each publication.
We hope you enjoy the pages herein that include remarkable photographs, illustrations and written work. This year’s cover
A Sublime Paradise
by Alex Wlodarczak ’22 gives us a unique birds-eye vantage point detailing the beauties of a sandy coast from a drone. As the boys continue to explore their creative talents, we at the
hope to document their evolution.
This year’s edition is very unique in that it features a wide range of music by both current students and alumni. If you feel so inclined, please play a note or two from the sheet music provided or check out the YouTube links included to tune in. This is all a wonderful testament to the School’s strong foundation in performing arts and music.
We are honored to have Randolph Schrade ‘76 write this year’s foreword for the
. He has touched many students’ lives during his thirty-year tenure at Allen-Stevenson, including Zach’s. We still remember when Mr. Schrade would supervise our second-grade recess where he taught us how to play “We Didn’t Start the Fire”
on the piano, one of the few songs our muscle memory can still recall. His spirited efforts to share his love of music are palpable and will be missed greatly at the School as he moves on to his next chapter.
Happy summer to all! We hope you enjoy the read and don’t forget to listen to the music all around you.
