Reunion 2019

On Friday, May 31, over 300 alumni, spouses, faculty and friends gathered at 583 Park for Reunion. Alumni and their parents caught up with faculty and friends, sharing memories from the classroom, performances, and sports practices and games.

David Kersey was honored for his 50 years of service to A-S with Headmaster David Trower h'95 citing, “Mr. Kersey epitomizes teaching and learning at Allen-Stevenson. He has had many roles at A-S: Math Teacher, History Faculty, Athletic Director and Alumni Liaison. This has allowed him to touch the lives of hundreds of boys throughout his time here. Over his half-century at A-S, he has never stopped learning or adapting to be the best teacher he could possibly be for the boys.”

Also recognized were Chris Brozyna P'21, Susan Etess P'00, Pete Haarmann and Tom Sullivan for their 25 year A-S anniversary, as well as retired food director, Monica Matthew P'93. Additionally Dr. Andrew Burger ‘59, P‘87, ‘91, ‘89, GP‘24 was awarded the Ron Rolfe '60 Distinguished Alumni Service Award.

Alumni Council President, Jamie Magid '91, P'27 announced the creation of the David W. Kersey h'98 Half-Century Endowed Scholarship Fund, with a lead gift from Louis Rose '86. Over $218,000 has been raised to date from 175 alumni, parents and friends.

Back to 78th Street for the Class of 2016
Last month, the Allen-Stevenson Class of 2016, along with their families, returned to Allen-Stevenson to celebrate all of their accomplishments. Mr. Kersey welcomed the alums back and they enjoyed watching a slideshow of the class throughout their years at A-S. Over 20 alums, along with their families, caught up with old friends and their favorite teachers.

We wish them luck in their next steps!

This Summer, Hugh Esterson '15 is working for the Indy 500 for racers Scott Dixon #9 and Felix Rosenqvist #10. He attended the Indy Grand Prix in May, and you can spot him behind the flame! 
Alex Bartner '10 is currently performing in an immersive production of Alice in Wonderland titled The Unbrunch . This site-specific event takes place in an undisclosed five floor members-only club with each floor representing a different layer of Wonderland. If you are interested in purchasing tickets, click here .
Will Hershey '04  and  Tim Maloney '04  recently launched Roundhill Investments, an exchange-traded fund focusing on the competitive video gaming industry. Last month, both men were featured talking about the gaming industry and their ETF: Nerd. Check them out here and here!
A-S Memories
A few weeks ago our Third Grade’s yearlong study of the United States culminated in the annual “Mr. America” performance - a patriotic and entertaining presentation of educational facts accompanied by impressive dance performances.
