BHS First Multi-Language Principal Coffee Meeting: Wednesday, September 23rd 8:15-9:45 AM at BHS Library

The Bellevue High School (BHS) staff recognizes that we have many families that come from different backgrounds. Some families may not be familiar with the American school system or speak English fluently. In an effort to serve more of our families, BHS offers multi-language Principal Coffee meetings. These meetings are well attended and include topics such as successful college preparation, developing leadership skills through school clubs and sports etc. You will also meet school staff that work with your students (counselors, vice principal, etc.).

In this 1st MLPC of 2019-2020 school year, Dr. Vic Anderson will introduce new staff, counselors and support staff.  Please join us, meet other parents and learn important information about high school.  The principal does the presentation in English followed by  interpretation in different languages.  Interpreters for Mandarin, Korean, Mandarin, Japanese languages will be available.

Ultimate Frisbee
The boys Ultimate frisbee team lost to Lakeside High School 12-7 last Tuesday (9/10).  The score was tight until Lakeside went on a run of four points to pull away.

Thursday's game (9/12) had the team prevail over Mercer Island High School, 11-8.  Both teams played with great spirit!  We're 1-1 on the season.
Next home game is at North Robinswood Sports Field (150th Ave SE and SE 20th St) at 4:30PM against Seattle Waldorf on Tuesday (9/24).

For more information on this sports program, go to http://bellevueultimate.org.

 Girl's Soccer

On Tuesday night, all three teams played against the highly-ranked Seattle Prep. JVC won 1-0 with a late goal to clinch a victory, JV came back from a one goal deficit to earn a 2-1 win, and varsity kept a clean sheet with a 0-0 tie, with multiple saves from keeps Junior Izzy Shorett and Sophomore Ashley Heintz. On Wednesday, JVC tied soccer powerhouse Issaquah 0-0.
Finally, all three teams played Newport on Thursday. They dominated, with JVC winning 5-0, JV 8-0, with hat tricks from Sophomores Maeva Hoffman and Giselle Lachini. 18 minutes into the Varsity game, all playing had to be ceased until further notice due to extreme weather conditions, and eventually the game got called off. Even though the game ended much earlier than expected, varsity was up 1-0, with a goal from senior Ally Scoma.
