Four Rivers Career Center Hosts Awards Ceremony
The Four Rivers Career Center’s Awards Ceremony took place on Monday, May 2, in the Blue Jay Gymnasium at Washington High School.

FRCC seniors in each program were recognized. School District of Washington Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Kephart was the master of ceremonies.
Paula Mueller Named SDOW, WINGS Support Staff Employee of the Year
Paula Mueller, Assistant Network Administrator/Technician, has been named the School District of Washington and WINGS Support Staff Employee of the Year.

WINGS recognizes a support staff person from the School District of Washington each year. The recipient receives a check for $1,000 and a plaque.
Washington High School Graduation Ceremony
Washington High School’s 121th commencement was held Friday, May 27, at Washington High School’s Scanlan Stadium.

There were 305 seniors in the Class of 2022.
School District of Washington Staff Closing Ceremony
The closing ceremony for School District of Washington staff was held Tuesday morning, May 31, in the CJB Theater at Washington High School.

The ceremony marked the end of the 2021-22 school year and celebrated accomplishments, presented service awards, technology recognition, recognized and thanked retirees, announced staff scholarships, and announced WINGS awards.
Clearview Elementary Receives PBS Gold
Level Recognition
Clearview Elementary has been awarded gold level recognition for its SW-PBS (Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support) implementation efforts during the 2021-22 school year.

Clearview has now received this distinction for 10 consecutive years. They received a special banner marking the accomplishment.
Sixth-Grade Students Compete at Elementary Track and Field Day
The School District of Washington’s annual elementary track and field day took place on Friday, May 13.

Sixth-grade students in the school district competed in the event at Washington High School’s Scanlan Stadium.
Washington West Students, Staff Surprise Retiring Hunt, Leslie With School-Wide Assembly
Staff and students at Washington West Elementary had a surprise assembly on Monday morning, May 9, for Principal Kim Hunt and Assistant Principal Glenda Leslie. Both Hunt and Leslie are retiring.
South Point Elementary Hosts Kindergarten Celebration
South Point Elementary School held its Kindergarten Celebration on Tuesday, May 17.

Students in all three kindergarten classrooms at South Point participated in a musical performance involving a number of songs under the direction of music teacher Maggie Butler.
Augusta Elementary Kindergarten Celebration, Sixth-Grade Program
Augusta Elementary held its Kindergarten Celebration and Sixth-Grade Program on Thursday evening, May 19.
Campbellton Elementary Sixth-Grade Tunnel, Ringing of Bell
Campbellton Elementary celebrated the last day of school with the traditional sixth-grade tunnel and ringing of the bell as the school day came to an end on Friday, May 27.
Washington High School Class of 2022 Senior Parade
Washington High School held a Class of 2022 Senior Parade through parts of the City of Washington on Wednesday, May 18.

Members of the 2022 graduating class from Washington High School rode in vehicles driven by family members. Many displayed signs on their vehicle displaying their name and a congratulatory graduation message.
Washington High School Dedicates New Bench to Penny Wilmesherr
A bench dedication ceremony for the late Penny Wilmesherr took place at Washington High School on Monday afternoon, May 9.

Wilmesherr was a longtime administrative assistant at Washington High School before retiring following the 2019-20 school year. She passed away in October of 2020.
WINGS Awards Scholarships to Washington High School Seniors
The WINGS Educational Foundation awarded 11 scholarships to Washington High School seniors in the amount of $1,000 apiece, for a total of $11,000.
Washington Middle School Brain Bowl Participates
In National Tournament
Washington Middle School sent a team to the National Academic Quiz Tournaments (NAQT) Middle School National Championship Tournament (MSNCT) May 7-8 in Chicago. There were 141 teams in attendance, the first in-person Nationals after last year's online versions and the canceled 2020 tournament.
NJROTC Awards Ceremony Recognizes Cadets' Accomplishments
The cadets of the Washington NJROTC were recognized for their accomplishments during the 2021-22 school year by members of the School District of Washington’s Board of Education and administration, civic and military groups and the NJROTC Booster Club during the Blue and Gold Ceremony on Tuesday May 3, at the CJB Theatre at Washington High School.
Marthasville Elementary Hosts Kindergarten Celebration
Marthasville Elementary held its Kindergarten Celebration on Friday, May 13.

The kindergarten students, under the direction of Marthasville music teacher Jon Logan, took part in a musical presentation entitled, “Pete the Cat: Rocking in My School Shoes.”
Labadie Elementary Hosts Kindergarten Celebration

Labadie Elementary School held its Kindergarten Celebration on Monday, May 16.

The kindergarten students, under the direction of Labadie Elementary music teacher Cassidy McNeal, took part in a musical presentation followed by students receiving certificates for completing kindergarten.
Campbellton Elementary Kindergarten Celebration

Campbellton Elementary held its Kindergarten Celebration on the evening of Tuesday, May 10.

Washington High School Senior Decision Day

Washington High School Class of 2022 seniors celebrated their future plans.

Seniors got together for pictures to announce their future intentions, whether it is college, trade school, military or workforce.
