Vallejo, CA - The City of Vallejo is pleased to announce that the Sacramento Street Project, also known as Blue Oak Landing, located at 2118 Sacramento Street, has received its temporary occupancy permit. So far, 49 of the units have been awarded to new tenants, which accounts for 69% of the building’s occupancy. New tenants will begin moving in as early as the first week of June 2023. Additional applications will be approved in the coming weeks, filling the final units and bringing the building to 100% occupancy.
Blue Oak Landing (formerly Sacramento Street Apartments) is a new apartment community providing high-quality, affordable housing to lower-income households that will be managed by Eden Housing. The development consists of 74 rental apartments with a mix of studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units. In order to qualify for housing at Blue Oak Landing, households must earn between 20% and 40% of the area median income, equivalent to an annual income of $17,000 to $35,000 for a two-person household.
All of the units will serve individuals, couples, and families currently experiencing homelessness or who are at risk of experiencing homelessness. Blue Oak Landing is using a Housing First approach and will provide on-site resident services and case management. The ground level of the building includes a property management office for the full-time property manager, as well as offices for the resident services team. Case management will be provided by Caminar, an experienced social service provider who also operates Resource Connect Solano, Solano County's Coordinated Entry System. The property also includes amenities such as a computer learning center, community room with a fully equipped kitchen, hot room, laundry facilities, and an outdoor courtyard for gatherings.
"We have many families who have been patiently waiting for a home to call their own, and welcoming those families home to Vallejo brings me the greatest joy as a public servant in this community," said Assistant City Manager Gillian Hayes.
