Edmonton, Alberta, November 27, 2012 - The Blue Pear Restaurant, a leader and champion of local cuisine, has announced that it is closing its doors on December 23, 2012. "After 12 successful and amazing years, we feel the time is right to move on and start the next chapter in our lives", said Jessie Radies, co-owner of The Blue Pear with husband and chef Darcy Radies. While the closure brings on mixed emotions, the Radies are looking forward to spending much more time with their children and family.
The Radies wanted to especially thank their loyal customers for their patronage over the past 12 years and hope to say goodbye to many in person during their last month of operation. In addition to saying good bye to customers, Jessie Radies, acknowledges that saying thank you and good-bye to their incredible loyal staff and world-class suppliers will be most difficult. "We've had people with us for so many years and it's like saying good-bye to family," said Radies.
"It's been our honour and great pleasure to serve Edmontonians and visitors to Edmonton over the past 12 years. All of us at the Blue Pear are very proud of what we have achieved together," said Radies.
While the Blue Pear will be missed, Radies did note that the Blue Pear location will not be empty for long. RGE RD, a new concept by Blair Lebsack, is scheduled to open in early 2013. Jessie and Darcy Radies wish the new owners all the best in their new venture.
