Pre-Primary Delegate Election Registration Ends February 7 — Sign Up Today

By Kathleen Moseley, 1st Vice Chair, Democratic Party of Bernalillo County

Our Pre Primary Delegate Election process is running smoothly! The mid term elections are our strongest opportunity to keep America from slipping away into autocracy! This is our opportunity to hold to our platform and stand against the disproportionate influence of rich and powerful corporate influence on our government. Study your primary candidates and their funding sources. This is where democracy takes a stand. We want "rule of law" not "rule by law".

Pre-primary registration period is January 17th, 2026 to February 7th, 2026. As of today, Tuesday, January 27th, Democrats have 12 days remaining to register to receive your electronic ballot to vote! You all have 12 days remaining to share the process with voters in your wards!

Registration to vote for delegates: Over 150 people had registered to vote by Saturday 1/24/2026! You can see who is registered in your ward by clicking HERE (Listed updated every few days). If you have registered you may have received or soon will, a certification letter. Certification letters will be sent every few days!

If you have received your certification letter and DO NOT know your ward, please check the registration site for your ward number so you can sit and meet with your correct ward on February 7th!

Delegate Candidates Registration: On the above registration page you may also see delegate candidates in your ward and their statements.  I see about 35 delegates registered as of Saturday 1/24/2026. This is about 16% of our goal of 216 delegates! Let's move Democrats! Run as if your democracy depended on it!

Come meet delegate candidates! Delegate candidates and voters gather at the Mega Ward meeting on February 7th from 11:30AM-1:30 PM at the UNM Continuing Education Building, 1634 University Boulevard NE, Albuquerque, NM. Voting will take place by electronic ballot after the meeting from Feb 11-Feb 15,2026. You must register by Saturday, Feb 7, 2026 to receive a ballot!

Come Meet Primary Candidates! Primary candidates are listed HERE. February 3rd, 2026 is filing day for primary candidates of any statewide office or any U.S. House of Representatives candidates. See Secretary of State requirements HERE. Primary candidates will also gather on February 7th to be available for delegate candidates and voters to meet and interview. The following candidates will have tables and attend; Deb Haaland, Sam Bregman, Katharine Clark, …. and others will be there.

Fearlessness

By Eric Antonio Valdez, 2nd Vice Chair, Democratic Party of Bernalillo County

Eric Antonio Valdez, Second Vice Chair of DPBC

In these trying times, our nation stands at a crossroads. ICE is actively terrorizing communities across the United States, stoking fear and uncertainty about the future of our neighborhoods and our country. The Trump administration and its allies want nothing more than to keep us afraid—to wield fear as a weapon, to silence dissent, and to suppress our collective power. But I, Eric Valdez, refuse to be cowed by their tactics.

Now is not the time for silence. Now is the time for action, for unity, and for courage. We must reject the narrative of fear that the administration wants to impose upon us. Fear may be powerful, but our voices, united in purpose and hope, are even more so. It is our duty to rise above intimidation, to speak out boldly, and to stand together in solidarity against the colossal threat posed by the current presidential administration.

This November, we have the opportunity—and the obligation—to make our voices resonate across the nation. Voting is not merely a civic duty; it is an act of defiance against those who would seek to divide and diminish us. We must mobilize like never before, turning out in record numbers to elect left-leaning candidates who will fight for justice, equality, and the preservation of our democracy. Every vote is a declaration that we will not stand idly by while right-wing tyranny threatens the very fabric of our country.

Do not be afraid to speak out against injustice. Do not let fear dictate your actions or your future. Stay strong and fearless, my friends. The power to shape the future rests firmly in our hands. Let us seize this moment, make our voices heard, and chart a course toward a brighter, more just America. The time is now. The future is ours to claim.

Our Community Our Voice - NE Heights Dems

Every Thursday, the corner of Paseo del Norte & Ventura NE (by Trader Joe’s and Albertsons) becomes more than just pavement — it becomes the people’s pulpit. From Noon to 1 PM, voices rise, signs lift, and hearts unite under one banner: Our Community, Our Voices!

We’re not just protesting — we’re proclaiming.

We’re saying no to tyranny, no to cruelty, and YES to the enduring promise that government of the people, by the people, and for the people shall not perish from the earth.

Bring your passion, your poster, and your presence. Whether you’ve marched a thousand times or never before — this is your moment to stand tall, speak loud, and show that Albuquerque’s NE Heights has fire in its soul and love in its purpose.

Because when neighbors gather, democracy breathes again. 🌹💙
