Hi friends,

I'm thrilled to let you know that the paintings for my upcoming show, On Ice, have been delivered to the gallery!   The series was inspired by the trip I took this past spring; I journeyed to Reykjavik, Iceland, where I spent 5 incredible weeks  running on pure adrenaline at about 90 mph. It was a blast! The country stole my heart and then some. I've been in my studio all summer, painting practically nonstop, and I'm so excited to share the new work with you.   Glacier Morning ,  an encaustic and ink painting, is featured above.

Please join me at Space Gallery next week for the opening reception on Wednesday, October 5th from 6-9 p.m. I look forward to sharing my new work and telling you all about my experiences in Iceland. Feel free to bring along your art-loving buddies-the more the merrier!

Colorado Women in Abstraction opened at the MSU Center for Visual Arts on July 15 and will close on October 1. It's been a fantastic show, and I'm honored to have had the opportunity to meet so many people and be a part of all the art-related talks and panels.

Last week, S ea of Stars, a painting from my spring show at Denver International Airport, was purchased for a private collection in Denver. Before it settles into its new home, it's taking a little side trip and is showing at the Cloyde Snook Gallery at Adams State University in an exhibition titled  Atypical Topographies.

All my best,

2016 Sneak Peek Collector's Tour. Collector, Susan Bailey and Martha Peck stopped in to take a look at my new paintings during my recent open studio.

A special weekend visit at the MSU Center for Visual Arts with my collectors.
My painting,
The Light of Youth, is heading to its new home in St. Louis when the show closes October 1.

Life speeds up then slows down.

I am so relieved it's autumn and the fast pace of this summer is easing up a bit. During the fall weekends, I enjoy taking some time in the kitchen and making fall pies, cobblers, and chutney for my family and friends. Any recipe that includes fresh apples, berries or peaches, butter, brown sugar, walnuts, and cinnamon has my name on it! In fact, sometimes I don't even use a recipe I just go with what smells yummy.

Visit to the Art Gallery of Alberta in Edmonton

Just landed...

Just last week I took some R&R time to visit Edmonton, and then a road trip to Jasper, Lake Louise and Banff in Alberta. The Canadian Rockies and the glacier-fed mountain lake colors are breathtaking this time of year!

This trip came at an opportune moment as one series of work is about to wrap up and another is about to begin. I love seeing new vistas, and mapping out new routes to explore. This trip provided me with more than enough fuel for the coming months.

Other dates I will be at the gallery:

First Friday at Space Gallery, October 7th, to 9 pm
First Friday at Space Gallery, November 4th, to 9 pm
