Monday is Blueprint Day
Joint Hearing February 17
Stakeholders will descend on Annapolis for the long-awaited public hearing on the Kirwan Blueprint legislation on Monday the 17 th at 1pm. The generational change proposed for funding and structure of public schools will surely attract widespread support, and many questions. As Annapolis is already in high gear with long days of testimony across the many committees, we’ll see an unusually busy Monday for this “center stage” affair.

Conduit Street Podcast Corner:
On the latest episode of the Conduit Street Podcast, Kevin Kinnally and Michael Sanderson discuss the latest news and notes from Annapolis, including a breakdown of Kirwan Commission Blueprint bill, with far-reaching recommendations for school funding and outcomes; a bill to apply the sales and use tax to (some) services; a bill to ban most plastic bags, which, as introduced, would preempt several existing or pending county programs and divert revenues from important local environmental purposes; and other tidbits around town.

Corporate Partner Corner

MACo's Bronze Corporate Partner Pepco , shared the story of Liberty and Justice – the pair of bald eagles that residents in the DMV area have been watching each year on their 360-degree Eagle Cam - in honor of Valentine's Day.

Pepco is proud to support the Earth Conservation Corps by bringing Eagle Cam to residents of the District, Maryland, and beyond. We assisted the Earth Conservation Corps in completing repairs to a newly installed camera. This camera provides 360-degree views of Liberty and Justice, a mating pair of bald eagles who have called the Eagle Cam site home the last four years.
