More About Joanna Conner
“Music chose me.” These words define Joanna Connor’s life. From mimicking Louis Armstrong at age two in a Brooklyn apartment to her first professional gig at 17, Joanna’s journey has been driven by a deep connection to the blues. Inspired by artists like Buddy Guy and Taj Mahal, her passion led her to Chicago in 1984, where she immersed herself in the city’s legendary blues scene.
Joanna’s career skyrocketed as she performed alongside icons such as Junior Wells, Otis Rush, and Koko Taylor. Her debut album Believe It launched her to international acclaim, leading to world tours, viral videos showcasing her incendiary slide guitar, and a #1 Billboard Blues record, 4801 South Indiana.
Now backed by her powerhouse band, The Wrecking Crew 23, Joanna continues to light up stages worldwide. Don’t miss her electrifying performance at Laguna Beach Cultural Arts Center’s Blues Legends Series—a night of raw emotion and timeless blues.
