Dear Friends,
Since my last letter, most of us have been at home, keeping our families safe. My son has been able to connect with his friends via Kids Messenger, which has made this time a bit easier on him. Due to the sudden loss of my father in December, no school, no friends, and stay-at-home guidelines, this time of isolation has taken a toll on him — and me, for that matter. I imagine many of you have had your own COVID experiences that have taken a toll as well and are doing all you can to keep life as “normal” as possible.
To add to it, we are a high-risk family and had to cancel many of the activities we love to do over the summer. Now what?
NATURE!
Research shows that nature heals. It has done that for me many times in my life. I now want that for my son. By your support of the Nature Center, I imagine nature means the same to you and your family. We have all been going on walks, exploring our backyards, gardening, or just sitting under a tree and reading a good book.
Now, we have access to the Nature Center again! So, get those hiking boots on and come explore the place we all love and cherish. No need for toys or screens, except maybe sunscreen and some insect repellent. Bring binoculars and bird ID books. My son and I love birds and can’t wait to experience all the bird life at the Nature Center once again.
Nature calls all of us. Now, the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge is calling us.
Your adventure awaits.
Please continue to stay safe and healthy,
