New for the 2019-2020 school year, the PTO will be sharing a monthly email newsletter with our membership to keep you informed of our ongoing projects, initiatives, news and events.´╗┐
Outdoor Classroom Social
The 6th annual Outdoor Classroom Social was the biggest one yet! The weather was perfect and the pumpkin submissions for the decorating contest were amazing. Each and every parent volunteer was so appreciated; thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy schedules to make this event a memorable one! You contributed to something that will live in the memories of our kids and that strengthened the bonds of our community.
Thank you to Mason Music, Fresh Air Family, Cahaba River Society, Aldridge Gardens, Shades Mountain Baptist Church, Hoover Belles, Knight School of Chess, Blake Schultz, Hoover High School Theater Department, WIAT storm tracker, Hoover Police Department, Hoover fire department, Hoover Historical Society, and realtor Kelly Powell for volunteering their time and expertise and making our evening so special.

Additionally, a thanks to our school staff who went the extra mile on this event: SRO Mark Hearn, Coach for his help with prep and cleanup, and the cafeteria staff. Parent Amy Montz contributed the beautiful table arrangements.

´╗┐Finally, a special hats-off to event coordinators Amanda Briscoe and Georgia Pearson!
Chick-fil-A Spirit Night
Our students enjoyed another fun Spirit Night in October at Chick-fil-A at the Galleria! The PTO received $540 from Chick-fil-A that goes directly back into the all the wonderful things that Bluff Park is doing.

Mrs. Bannon's Kindergarten class was the ice cream party winner with the most students attending spirit night. Stima received the most house points for attendance. What a fun night to eat together as a community!

Thank you to Magen Renta for coordinating these fun evenings for our school.

Here's the lineup of Spring Semester Spirit Nights:

January 9 - Freddy's at The Grove (4 - 8 pm)
March 3 - Chick-fil-A at the Galleria (5 - 7:30 pm)
April 7 - Bluff Park Ice Cream Shoppe (3 - 8 pm)
Walk to School Day
Walk to School Day is a favorite Bluff Park tradition. In early October, students met at three locations in the neighborhood and enjoyed walking to school with their friends and teachers.

We had over 250 students, teachers, and parents participate this year - the largest group yet. A shout out to all the teachers who joined us for the walk this year!

Thank you Kristin Mathis for organizing this event and making it run so smoothly.
Visit with State Rep. David Faulkner
State Representative David Faulkner visited our October PTO board meeting and gave an update on the state's education priorities and funding for the current session. He visited with students and brought along a donation of $2,500 to our PTO.
