Blum's Western Team - Recovery After the Storm

What an incredible accomplishment for our Western Region team! Amidst a catastrophic hurricane, its aftermath, and the destruction of their office space, they immediately went back to work - only losing a week of work. The journey has not been easy, dealing with major life and work disruptions and challenges, but now they are officially back into Suite 160 at 30 Bryson St. in Asheville. We recognize each member of Blum's Asheville team for exemplifying each and every Frank Factor. Thank you for representing Blum, being an amazing team, and always putting your best foot forward.

Showed Out & Stepped Up

Last week, five Blum team members showed up early at Owen High School in Black Mountain to participate in the 5th Annual Stampede on the Stairs. Participants honored first responders from the events of 9/11/2001, now 24 years ago, by running up and down approximately 1,980 stairs, simulating the stairs of the World Trade Center Twin Towers.

The events of that day will never be forgotten. We honor the lives lost, and women and men who bravely stepped into uncertainty to save the lives of their fellow man. We recognize our five team members who showed up in a big way on Thursday, September 11th - Jackson Chastain, Tom Irvine, Jake Bailey, Reece Carter, and David Hana.

Blum Team Helps Piedmont Opera

Jack Hartley, Steven Poteat, and Ricky Touchstone from Blum construction stepped in to assist Piedmont Opera clean out their warehouse full of accumulated props, scenery, and other materials to be sorted, recycled, or repurposed. The efforts of the crew will make way for the new set of Bizet's Carmen.

“Blum Construction’s generosity is a perfect example of how local businesses can rally around the arts,” said Interim Artistic Director Joseph Mechavich. “They’re helping us not only prepare for our big, spring production but also create a long-term income stream that will help keep opera vibrant in our community.”
