Blythewood Bee Company

Blythewood Bee Company is owned by Scott Derrick. After retiring from the flavor and fragrance industry, he started bee keeping as a hobby in 2011 as well as a bee removal company. As he learned more about bees over the next 8 years, he started recognizing the need for products in both the bee removal industry and bee keeping industry. He created Honey-B-Gone to keep away bees, and Swarm Commander to attract them. Both of these products began to boom and have sold across the country as well as overseas. As his business grew, he knew he needed more space and moved his company out of his home and onto McLean Road, where it is today. Blythewood Bee Company manufactures their products here in Blythewood but will soon be moving their manufacturing location to a larger building with room for an automated bottling line out in Winnsboro to keep up with demand. In their shop you can find their Honey-B-Gone and Swarm Commander products as well as their very own honey and other bee keeping supplies and goods. Scott Derrick stated that this company was never about the money - he loves helping people and it brings him happiness and satisfaction to be able to do so.

Modified Town Hall Schedule on July 3rd

Town Offices will be closed to foot traffic on Wednesday, July 3rd, 2024 for our Independence Day Celebration. You can still call Town Hall at 803-754-0501 from 8:30am-5:00pm.

The Town of Blythewood is having their annual Rockin' Red, White, and Blue Celebration in Doko Meadows Park on Wednesday, July 3rd! There will be live music by the Blue Dogs, food, and fireworks! Vendors open @4PM, music starts @6PM, and the fireworks show will start around 9:30PM! Bring your blankets, chairs, and family! Don't miss out on our biggest event of the year!

The Town of Blythewood presents Movies in the Park! Come on out to Doko Meadows Park on Saturday, July 20th, 2024 at sunset to watch Cars! Check out the flyer below for the rest of the years schedule!

Camp Discovery is hosting Food Truck Friday from 4:30pm-6:30pm on July 26th at 208 Claude Bundrick Road here in Blythewood. There will also be scenic picnic areas, guided hikes, relaxation, yard games, and more!
