School Board Appreciation Week March 14-18
This week is School Board Appreciation Week. Carrollton City Schools is fortunate to have a dedicated group of board members who go above and beyond to serve the school district.

13 CCS students named district winners in 'Young Authors'
Thirteen Carrollton City Schools students have been named district-level winners in the Young Georgia Authors Writing Competition and have advanced to the regional contest.

CHS junior wins Best in Show in Kiwanis Showcase competition
Hailey Jackson, a junior at Carrollton High School, won "Best in Show" and a $500 scholarship for her oil painting "Free Fall" in the annual Kiwanis Club of Carrollton Art Showcase, co-sponsored by the Carrollton Center for the Arts.

CES Performing Arts Academy Showcase supports district literacy initiative
Last night, CES first graders had their Performing Arts Academy Showcase. The event focused on blending creativity with literacy through reader's theater. Students read The Wizard of Oz.

Up & Coming: Winding road leads soprano Lyle on successful journey
In this ongoing series, we reach out to CHS alumni to learn what they are doing now that they have the advantage of experience, education and self-reflection. This month’s pick is Greer Lyle, Class of 2013. The main entrance of Carrollton High School features a mural of “The Phantom of the Opera,” prominently featuring Greer, who played the Phantom’s love interest Christine her senior year. She has since continued to pursue a career as an operatic soprano, taking an educational route a little different than most aspiring performers.
