Following each Orleans Parish School Board Meeting, district communications will provide a recap.

All meetings Orleans Parish School Board Meetings are held at the Orleans Parish School Board building, 2401 Westbend Parkway, New Orleans, Louisiana 70114 in the boardroom, Suite 1050.

Committee meetings are held on Tuesdays at 1 p.m. unless otherwise noted. Board Business Meetings are held on Thursdays within the same week unless otherwise noted. Additional meeting information can be found on our website.

OPSB Board Member Orientation Complete

At February's Board Meeting, OPSB members announced the completion of their orientation, held on February 4 and 5, 2025. The orientation covered board governance, district overview, finance, academics, education trends, accountability, portfolio management, operations, enrollment, school support, student services, communications, and legal policies.

NOLA Public Schools Superintendent Search Update

The Orleans Parish School Board (OPSB) provided an update on the ongoing search for the next Superintendent of NOLA Public Schools during the Committee of the Whole meeting.

Superintendent Search Timeline:

The Board shared the timeline outlining the key steps and milestones in the superintendent search process. This timeline will guide the process to ensure transparency and community involvement at each stage.

Community Feedback:

A significant focus of the meeting was the continued emphasis on gathering feedback from the community. The Board reaffirmed its commitment to understanding what qualities and qualifications stakeholders want in the next NOLA-PS Superintendent. An overview of the current survey results and community engagement efforts was presented, highlighting recurring themes and priorities shared by community members.

Future Community Engagement:

The OPSB expressed its intention to deepen community involvement by having board members engage directly with constituents within their respective districts. Details and dates for these district-specific engagement sessions will be announced in the near future.

The Board emphasized the importance of community voices throughout the search process and encouraged continued participation in surveys and upcoming engagement sessions to ensure the selection of a leader who reflects the values and needs of NOLA Public Schools.
